Look Inside The Homes Of Your Favorite HGTV Stars

On HGTV, hosts make a living out of turning the living arrangements of people across the country into chic, beautiful homes that make us totally jealous. From knocking down walls to create the beloved “open floor plan”, to building the perfect en suite bathrooms, HGTV hosts turn houses upside down and leave their clients with homes we can all envy. When it is your job to create the most beautiful homes, it comes as no surprise that the hosts of HGTV take time to create some pretty incredible living spaces for themselves. These hosts take audiences inside their clients’ impeccable renovations, but this time we’re taking you inside the hosts’ digs for an inside look at their own incredible living spaces.
1. Christina Anstead
When Christina Anstead began filming her HGTV show Flip or Flop, much like its name, the show could have been a total flop. Instead, it was a smash hit, and audiences fell in love with both Anstead’s (at the time, known by her then-surname El Moussa) made-for-TV personality and incredible sense of design.

Instagram/@christinaanstead
Before Christina and her husband at the time, Tarek El Moussa, had a show, they were already known on Instagram. They posted before and after photos of broken-down places they bought for cheap prices, and their incredible renovations that turned even the most run down houses into beautiful homes. So when it came time for Christina to transform her own home, there was no doubt that she would create something breathtaking.
2. Inside Christina Anstead’s House
When Anstead decorates homes to sell, she tries to design them so many potential buyers can picture themselves living within their walls. But with her own home, she is free to show off her own personality, and it definitely shows in this incredible office space. Complete with plenty of natural light, her office space highlights her attention to detail and her preference for some fun-loving home design.

Instagram/@christinaanstead
Anstead gave fans a sneak peak of her newly redesigned home office on social media, but they will be seeing much more of it soon. The star recently announced a new HGTV series that she will host, Christina on the Coast. The show is set to focus on her own home renovations, along with other side projects for a few clients. We imagine it must be hard to get any work done in this space, we’d be too busy looking around.
3. Tarek El Moussa
HGTV fans know Tarek El Moussa as the more practical minded host on the hit show Flip or Flop. He joined with his then-wife Christina to create the show from the ground up. Christina was making most of the design choices on the show, as he built and constructed the homes and turned carefully drawn blueprints into real life dream homes.

Instagram/@therealtarekelmoussa
After he and Christina separated, Tarek was on the market for a new dream home of his own. He went on Instagram and shared that he had purchased his new house, just two blocks away from his Flip or Flop costar in Costa Mesa, California, and was excited to get to work on renovations. We knew he was going to create something amazing, but we didn’t expect what he came up with.
4. Inside Tarek El Moussa’s House
Tarek’s 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom bachelor pad is nothing short of incredible. The whole home wraps around a gorgeous pool, complete with a fire pit and hot tub. Even the master bedroom opens up to the pool. Talk about a great view! And if you’re sick of being stuck behind the glass, don’t worry, the windows are retractable, of course!

Instagram/@therealtarekelmoussa
On social media, Tarek explained that he was not looking for a house when he came across this beauty. He wrote “I was randomly driving down a street and saw this place and I knew it was the one! Within hours I was writing an offer and negotiating the deal.” He later described his new digs as “the absolute coolest bachelor-pad-meets-family-house vibes.” We can’t help but agree with that assessment.
5. Chip and Joanna Gaines
Chip and Joanna Gaines are the undeniable power couple of HGTV. It was the cry heard around the world when the network, along with the king and queen of HGTV, announced that the fifth season of Fixer Upper would also be the last. We’re still trying to come to terms with it.

Instagram/@joannagaines
For years, fans loved watching Chip and Joanna help couples build their dream homes. Joanna Gaines would famously ask people if they “have what it takes to take on a fixer upper,” but we all know it was, in fact, Chip and Joanna who made all the gutsy decisions that ultimately led to perfection. So when it came to building a home of their own, the bar was set pretty high.
6. Inside Emily Henderson’s House
Henderson often refers to her house lovingly as the Hendo House on social media. And we one-hendo-percent want to live here. She’s decorated her home with some of her favorite antique finds, including big, bold, tattered flags and re purposed furniture, while keeping the rooms of her Tudor home light, bright and airy.

Instagram/@em_henderson
Henderson said on social media that when she designed her house she went on a quest to “go back to the OG Emily” and indulged in a weekly ritual of Flea Market Sundays. She ended up styling her home with mostly flea market and vintage store finds. We wonder what markets she’s going to, and how we can get our hands on just about everything in this home.
7. Drew Scott
Even if you are a devoted fan of HGTV’s hit show Property Brothers, it can be hard to tell the identical twin hosts apart. But with Drew Scott of the Scott duo playing the part of realtor (his brother Jonathan fills the role of interior decorator and contractor), there’s no doubt that Drew would find himself the most perfect home.

Instagram/@mrdrewscott
For years, the Scott brothers lived in a gigantic dream home together in Las Vegas. By the sound of it, we are jealous of anyone who got to party there. The house included a game room, wet bar and a self-described “mini water park.” But when Drew got married to partner Linda, he exchanged his bachelor pad for an impressive Tudor home in Los Angeles. And it was a tough act to follow.
8. Inside Drew Scott’s House
When the newlywed Scotts (no, we are not talking about the almost inseparable twins), tied the knot, they needed a new home to go with their new life together. And leave it to Drew to find a perfect 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom swoonworthy home that is literal design goals.

Instagram/@mrdrewscott
In true Scott fashion, they created their own floor plan, turning a patio into an enviable kitchen. Custom storing was crafted to make sure there is a place for just about everything. This master bathroom just off the bedroom features his and her vanities for the newlywed couple. And you see that tiled room in the back? It’s a giant shower. Hold on, Drew, we’ll be right over.
9. Jillian Harris
Even if you do not watch HGTV, there is a chance you might recognize this famous host. Before she charmed fans with her self-described “city meets country” home design, she was featured as a contestant on The Bachelor and later took on the leading role as The Bachelorette.

Instagram/@jillian.harris
These days, Harris is known and followed on social media, in part, for her impeccable taste in home design as the host of Love It or List It Vancouver, the spin off of Love It or List It. And when it came to designing her home, Harris wanted to create something that was both practical for her two young children, and something that incorporated her signature design style.
10. Inside Jillian Harris’ House
For Harris’ dream home, it’s no surprise that the living room features a hue of Harris’ favorite home decor color, pink. And also true to her individual style, Harris’s home perfectly balances her love for sleek, clean, modern lines with some comfy couches that we would love to plop down on after a long day (or, really, after any day).

Instagram/@jillian.harris
Harris shows here that she’s perfected the art of mixing her rustic style with more modern staples. Harris explained on Instagram that the living room came together after just a bit of indecisiveness. She bought one sectional, replaced it, and then replaced the new set of couches that were purchased in its place. Clearly, perfection takes trial and error. In the end, we think she made the right decision.
11. Emily Henderson
Emily Henderson has been making a name for herself in the HGTV world ever since she won the show Design Star. And since, she’s shown that she truly has what it takes to be a star in the design world. She went on to become a host of the network’s show Secrets From A Stylist and runs a home design blog.

Instagram/@em_henderson
The popular HGTV host likes to focus on her love for vintage inspired design, and her happy place seems to be browsing through the aisles of her local antique store or furniture flea market. So when it comes to decorating her own home, we expect to see a lot of her signature vintage looks.
12. Inside Chip and Joanna Gaines’ House
After living in nine different homes, Chip, Joanna, and the rest of the family settled in “The Farmhouse,” their nickname for their lucky-number-ten home. The couple bought the house in 2012 and spent months renovating it before moving in October 2013. The house is a mere 1,700 square feet, and is surrounded by 40 acres of land.

Instagram/@joannagaines
With some of Joanna’s signature rustic touches, they stayed true to the character of the home. Joanna explained that she chose white and neutral tones throughout the house to keep things calm during times that their lives get a little crazy (which, between all of their many projects, seems like it could often be hectic). Complete with the “farmhouse sink,” raw wooden shelves, vintage signage, and plenty of plants, this home is undeniably a Gaines creation.
13. David Bromstad
After winning the first season of HGTV’s Design Star, David Bromstad entered living rooms across the United States as the host of Color Splash with a focus on, you guessed it, bright colors. Years later, he continued his HGTV streak as the host of My Lottery Dream Home, where he, as the name suggests, helps recent lottery winners find the gigantic home of their dreams.

Instagram/@bromco
With shows focused around color and grandeur, we would expect nothing less than a bright, flashy apartment from one of our favorite HGTV hosts who has made a name for himself pushing bold design and big budgets. And not to worry, Bromstad’s Miami condo definitely delivers on both of those expectations.
14. Inside David Bromstad’s House
Bromstad admitted in an interview that when he first started decorating his new Miami space, he went a little overboard with the colors. The living room walls were turquoise, the couch was orange, the pillows were red. “Then I stopped, looked around and said ‘I can’t live like this,'” Bromstad told HGTV. Yeah, that sounds a bit overwhelming.

YouTube/Home & Ideas
Instead, Bromstad returned nearly 80 percent of what he had bought, painted the walls white, and did a major scale back on the colors. The finished condo features vintage light-up signs, bold pillows and a bright leaf patterned wall paper in the bedroom (Bromstad couldn’t totally do away with crazy colors). We’re glad he branched out of his normal design aesthetic, but still stayed true to his signature style.
15. Jonathan Scott
For years, Jonathan and Drew Scott of Property Brothers were famously sharing a bachelor pad in Las Vegas. But while Drew since moved on to live with the other love of his life – his wife Linda Phan – in Los Angeles, Jonathan has elected to continue living in sunny Las Vegas.

Instagram/@mrsilverscott
Jonathan is known to be the interior designer brother of one of HGTV’s favorite duo. With so much time dedicated to delivering top-notch design for his clients, Jonathan must have loved decking out his own home. At his impressive bachelor pad, Jonathan has focused on the outdoor spaces, and the investment has definitely paid off.
16. Inside Jonathan Scott’s House
Jonathan Scott ended up purchasing a home that has an breathtaking back yard, complete with a luxurious-looking pool that is perfect for his Las Vegas living space. Between his enviable rooftop deck and his expansive, sleek pool, he seems to have the perfect space for entertaining guests outdoors.

Twitter/@mrsilverscott
On social media, Jonathan often posts pictures of his friends playing water volleyball in his pool or his dogs, Gracie and Stewie, lounging by the water, describing his poolside hangouts as “the perfect way to spend a day at home.” We couldn’t help but to agree, and we hope he will consider this an official acceptance to join any of his parties in the future.
17. Ben and Erin Napier
Ben and Erin Napier were renovating homes in their small town and running a stationary shop when HGTV originally reached out to the couple with a crazy idea. Producers wanted the couple to host a television show where they fixed up old homes, and from there the husband and wife took off as two of the network’s biggest stars.

Instagram/@Scotsman.co
The Napiers, who star on the show Home Town, took up the task of turning old, broken down homes in Laurel, Mississippi into restored, renovated beauties. With their southern charm and aesthetic, the Napiers feel to many fans like the couple next door. But wait until you see what they are keeping behind their doors.
18. Inside Ben and Erin Napier’s House
The Napiers have always loved to stay true to a house’s character, and their own home is no exception. From the rustic bookshelves to the worn rugs, we feel at home just by looking at the pictures! But while many HGTV stars seem to have their houses constantly in order, Erin Napier has revealed that while she is famous for her spotless homes, her reality is like most of ours.

Instagram/@erinapier
“Our pillows are always smushed, never fluffed, there are too many candles on the table, dust bunnies along the baseboard … the rug that stays wrinkled … I love everything about this place,” Erin wrote on her Instagram. Once again a reminder that stars are just like us. They, dare we say it, actually sit on their couches. Groundbreaking!
19. Karen E Laine
This home makeover mom is just one half of the mother-daughter HGTV duo that make up the series Good Bones. The series follows Karen E Laine and her daughter Mina Starsiak Hawk as they renovate homes around the Indianapolis area, bringing new life to some of their favorite neighborhoods in town.

Instagram/@kelaine217
What makes Good Bones different from the rest of the HGTV shows is that it highlights the seemingly endless, painstaking process of flipping a house – no illusion that renovations take a single day. By the time this family team is through with a house, not only are the floors and walls restored, but so is the sense of home and small town charm. So when it came to picturing Karen’s house, we were expecting a bit of her signature charm, but we weren’t expecting anything like this.
20. Inside Karen E Laine’s House
The Good Bones duo is known to be entirely self taught, and that includes Karen’s gardening skills. Karen explained on social media that she got her green thumb from her mother, and it definitely shows that she was paying close attention. We mean, take a look at this back yard and imagine curling up with a good book in this serene setting.

Instagram/@kelaine217
Throughout the series, Karen has showed fans the less glamorous side of home renovations. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty unloading some of the most disgusting things found in some of the very old homes she renovates. But her totally self-made back yard space shows her propensity to get her hands dirty isn’t just reserved for television.
21. Vern Yip
As one of the judges on HGTV’s Design Star, Vern Yip has become known for being a design star himself. He continued his HGTV stardom with stints hosting Deserving Design with Vern Yip and HGTV Urban Oasis. Since, Yip has cemented himself as a pillar of home design stardom, with a keen eye specifically for colors and patterns.

Instagram/@vernyipdesigns
For years, fans have wished they could get Yip to come to their homes and bring some of his designs with him. Yip has since taken his HGTV stardom to new heights, and taken his patterns directly to fans homes with his line of luxury fabrics. So when it came to decorating his own home, it’s no surprise that its a fabric designers paradise.
22. Inside Vern Yip’s House
Yip shared this photo of his impeccably styled living room with his fans on Instagram. From the table runner, to the rug, to the floor to ceiling window treatments, this living room screams Vern Yip designs and lives up to his name in the fabric world.

Instagram/@vernyipdesigns
Unfortunately, it seems that all of the hard work it takes to host so many HGTV shows, along with designing a new Florida vacation home, means he is not spending much time in this dining room. On social media, Yip commented that he has missed eating in his incredible dining room. Luckily, he was able to take advantage of his detailed dining arrangement for the Chinese New Year.
23. Bristol and Aubrey Marunde
Bristol Marunde was an MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter before an injury changed his life and, later, turned him into an HGTV star. After his injury, and after he teamed up with his realtor wife, the duo began flipping homes for HGTV’s Flip or Flop Vegas. And the rest was zebra-printed home design history.

Instagram/@aubreymarunde
The couple has a very different aesthetic than the rest of their HGTV counterparts, and tend to lean in to their over-the-top Vegas aesthetic. Bright blue bedroom? Why not? Completely gold gilded master bathroom? No problem! You want a kitchen that has floor to ceiling mirrors? They’ve got you. So when it comes to their own home, we can only imagine the opulence inside.
24. Inside Bristol and Aubrey Marunde’s House
While Bristol and Aubrey Marunde have kept much of their home under wraps, they have occasionally posted some peeks inside. As a gift, Bristol seems to have purchased Aubrey a pergola (or a wooden roof-type structure) for their spacious backyard. But here we see a little bit of the Marunde’s personal touches that they’ve added inside of their home.

Instagram/@aubreymarunde
Bristols’ choice for home design seems to highlight his past career. Bristol custom built this bookshelf, complete with a framed MMA fighting uniform, a UFC fighting belt, and some Marunde-esque touches like a money sign, and a silver “M.” If you’ve seen their show, none of this should surprise you.
25. Hilary Farr
This HGTV host rose to stardom as the face of Love It or List It alongside her cohost, real estate agent David Visentin. The Toronto, Canada, native has made a name for herself for her interior design, and even established Hilary Farr Designs so that fans of the show can have their HGTV dreams come true.

Instagram/@hilary_farr
Farr is known for her chic, no nonsense outlook when it comes to interior decorating. With her designs, you’ll see less of the knick knacks that come with a Chip and Joanna Gaines classic redesign, and more clean lines, white walls and modern appliances. Think less vintage shops and more West Elm.
26. Inside Hilary Farr’s House
Farr was one of Toronto’s first home stagers, so we know she knows how to make a place look great, including her own. The Toronto native splits her time between her Canadian hometown, New York (where she runs her design business) and Raleigh, North Carolina (where Love It or List It is filmed).

Instagram/@hilary_farr
Farr rarely shares pictures of her Toronto home, besides some outdoor shots of her snow covered back yard, or pictures of her Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix and love-of-her-life, Mimi, lounging at home. But in this picture of her Raleigh house, we see that Farr’s love for clean, simple design is something she brings into all of her HGTV homes, even her own!
