Hugh Jackman Jokingly Slams Ryan Reynolds With A PSA

Published

When it comes to friends joking around, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds love outdoing each other. For years, the two have it been at it, and fans can’t get enough of their humor. Hugh Jackman decided to take things a bit further with his recent joke.

War Of Words

Hugh Jackman unveiled an ad mocking Reynolds. It wasn’t any plain ad, though. In a PSA, Jackman calls out Reynolds as nothing more than a phony.

While the video does tell people to check out Once Upon A Deadpool, it does it in a laughable manner. “Please do it or he might make another Van Wilder movie or, worse yet, Green Lantern,” stated MTV’s Josh Horowitz. This video was in response to Reynolds’ own ad against Jackman.

A Decade Of Jokes

Reynolds and Jackman first met on the set of 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds, who was attached to Deadpool since 2005, was slated to have a cameo appearance as Merc with a Mouth. Directors decided to give the character a bit more screen time than expected.

The two (kind of) joined forces again for Deadpool 2. Archive footage of Jackman from X-Men Origins: Wolverine was used in the mid credit sequence. This section found modern Deadpool going back to the film to take down his previous self. He tells Wolverine to agree to work with him in the future.

Giving Fans What They Want?

With Once Upon A Deadpool, there have been rumors flying that Jackman shot some footage for the flick. Since fans have been begging for a possible Deadpool/Wolverine film, this could the perfect way to launch into it.

Once Upon A Deadpool, which arrives on December 12, will include 20 minutes of new footage. This PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 features The Wonder Years star Fred Savage as The Unnamed Grandson.
