This Guy’s Hilarious Tinder Profile Is A Crash Course In Good Marketing

Published

on

Every Tinder user knows what it’s like to swipe through endless profiles that are more ugh than oh!—it’s the very nature of the dating app. And if you know what it’s like to be unimpressed by profile after profile, you probably know what it’s like to come across one that stops your thumb in its tracks.

That was Niket Biswas’s goal.

“It’s Tough To Stand Out”

The whole thing started after Niket came home from a date. Inspiration had struck at the strangest hour and he fired up his computer.

For two hours, he cataloged photos and anecdotes about his personal life, drawing up graphs and charts to explain how his cuteness and contribution to society have evolved from birth to the present day. Perks of dating him, he writes, include an over-commitment to Halloween, chewing with his mouth closed, and puppies—does that mean he just has… puppies… at all times? (Like, in the pocket of his jacket? ? )

What exactly inspired him to undertake this dating profile overhaul? “There’s plenty of good looking people on dating apps,” Niket told Mashable. “It’s really tough to stand out on photos alone. So many profiles mention food, travel, family, brunch.”

Standing Out From The Crowd

“I’ve been on and off online dating for the last 7 years and I figured throwing up some new pics was worth a shot and worst case scenario, send a couple smirks to strangers,” he explained. “Lots of people don’t even read the text or swipe to a second picture unless you catch their attention, which I guess is what I was going for.” Oh, and he even checked in with a few exes who provided testimonials to share. They’re hilariously perfect.

After posting the batch of slides to his profile, Niket says that he’s seen at least 10 times more matches than in the past. Sounds like he made the right call.

They are the bad guy, and most films make sure that fact is clear to viewers from the get go. When it isn’t, they do a good job of clarifying later on. A closer look at the motives that drive some of the most notorious villains in film often reveals that they’re often not all that bad. Read on, and you’ll discover you probably agree with them.
