Hilarious Mark Hamill Bloopers That Will Truly Make You Love Him

Mark Hamill is an icon of pop culture. Whether he’s playing Luke Skywalker in the prolific Star Wars films or providing the voice of the scariest villain in all of comic book history, The Joker, he is instantly recognizable. But just like any actor, he is capable of making mistakes. It could be because he flubbed a line, couldn’t keep a straight face or was just being his usual comedic self. It’s these bloopers in his otherwise amazing acting that makes him a fan favorite.

Snakes? Why Did It Have To Be Snakes

Filming the scenes between Luke Skywalker and Yoda during The Empire Strikes Back were a challenge. Frank Oz’s voice was muffled due to him being below the set operating the puppet that we would all come to love as Yoda. The funniest moment is when Luke picks up a snake. The live snake they used had become blind due to molting and bit Mark. He responded to the bite by saying “It was a little love nip.” Speaking of love…

Mark Hamill Messes Up In Wing Commander 3

Wing Commander 3 is an often-forgotten piece of Mark Hamill’s career. Back when video game graphics were not up to the quality of making movie level cutscenes, they often used what is referred to as full motion video. They would use real actors and film it like a movie, just on a significantly smaller budget. When Mark Hamill’s character attempts to console his lover during a quiet moment in a bar, Mark flubs his line. He humorously says “I don’t know my line, but I want everyone to think I do.” Another flub line is up next.

Darth Vader Finds His Son’s Lack Of Lines Disturbing

The Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker relationship took a different turn when it was revealed that they were father and son. Not only is it one of the most famous moments in film history, but it also adds depth to both characters as they fight with their feelings for each other. During a very tense and bittersweet moment between them in Return of the Jedi, Mark Hamill messes up his line. He mumbles half of it before giving up and shaking his head in embarrassment. Now on to the beginning of Mark’s voice career.

What Does Luke Fight For Again?

In 1979, Mark Hamill recorded a series of voicemail messages for a 1-800 number in order to promote the then-upcoming The Empire Strikes Back. In one of them, he explains Luke’s journey from innocent farm boy to a leader in the Rebel Alliance. He ends up saying that Luke is fighting for “freedium” instead of freedom. He laughs it off like a professional and jokingly says that Luke is actually fighting for Plutonium. Finally, let’s look at that journey a little more closely.

What Will The Death Star Do?

You all know the story. Luke has trusted in the Force, made the impossible shot, and was saved at the last minute by Han Solo. But what if that scene had taken a different, more humorous tone? Well, Mark Hamill gives us a taste of that as he messes up his line to Han. Midway through saying they should get out of there before the Death Star explodes, his tongue gets twisted. This is the product: “Now let’s get some distance before that thing goes bleh.”
