When it comes to having another child, Hilaria and Alec Baldwin have been on a journey. Miscarriages have placed an emotional strain on the married couple. Fortunately, they’re proud to reveal another member of the family who will be joining them soon.
Child Number Five
On Instagram, Hilaria shared a video showcasing her baby’s heartbeat. “Sound up…I’ll let the baby do the talking because I don’t have the words to express how this sound makes us feel,” she wrote in the post. “Just got the great news that all is well and all is healthy with this little munchkin. I wanted to share this with you here we go again.”
Fans of the couple were delighted to hear the good news. “Idk how you are dealing with first trimester symptoms while having all of your kids home during this chaotic time!!!! Bless you! So happy for your growing family,” Instagram user limabeangwen said. Some fans are in the same position as Hilaria. “How far along???? I am pregnant as well and for some reason I have been thinking of you so much! I must have had a premonition. I adore you, Alec and your beautiful family. This is such amazing news,” Instagram user killabeezus said.
This baby will have some company when they arrive. Hilaria and Alec have three sons (Romeo, Rafael, and Leonardo) and their daughter Carmen. The baby will also have half-sister Ireland Baldwin around. Ireland came from Alec’s previous marriage to Kim Basinger, which lasted until 2000. Alec began dating Hilaria back in August of 2011. The couple tied the knot a year later in NYC’s St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral.
Two Miscarriages in One Year
After two miscarriages, 2019 was a difficult year for the couple. The first miscarriage took place in April after 10 weeks of pregnancy. The second one happened back in November, but it was quicker than Hilaria would imagine. The yoga instructor lost the baby in only four weeks. With their second pregnancy, they were expecting to bring another daughter into the world. As expected, having two miscarriages happening so close to each other hurt Hilaria. “I had to go home and sleep with my dead baby inside of me. I felt sick, sour in my belly, and so devastated,” she wrote in a Glamour article. “I kept waking up and thinking it must have all been a very vivid bad dream. I cried so much that my eyes were nearly swollen shut. …This was a pain that I had never experienced before, and it felt suffocating.”
Hoping for a Miracle
After two miscarriages, Hilaria and Alec Baldwin have high hopes for this baby. While some critics shun them for becoming pregnant again, the couple simply wants to expand their family. For Hilaria, her work as a yoga instructor has been taking a hit through these events. Fortunately, Alec has been busy with appearances on Will & Grace, The Looming Tower and A Star Is Born. The actor is currently working on Blue Before Blood, A Few Good Men and The Boss Baby 2.
The new baby is slated to arrive sometime in September. This puts it in the same birth month as their son Leonardo, who will turn three on September 12. When the baby finally arrives, they will be greeted by a loving family. For Hilaria, she hopes her story can help mothers wondering how they should deal with their own miscarriages. They could choose to be public with it or keep it within a small group. “However you process, do it with no shame and remember that you are not alone,” Hilaria said in Glamour.
