As a kid, Harry Potter was a huge deal. Whether you got the books at midnight or saw the films, you were sucked into an amazing world. As an adult, you’ll see things in a different light. When it comes to Harry Potter, you’ll notice these five situations.
Everyone’s Invited To Teach
In order to teach at Hogwarts, you mainly need a pulse. No teacher that was hired in the school went through any sort of background check. Professor Lupin was a werewolf! The students seemed to be okay with it, though. Can you imagine today’s schools hiring werewolves or killers to teach math class?

Harming The Youth
Dumbledore has put Harry through horrendous situations over and over again. While he knew Harry’s fate, there could’ve been better ways to prepare the young man. He could’ve simply just built a special training area for him instead of tossing him in harm’s way. What clearly looks like child endangerment is simply seen as normal behavior.

Your Soul Is Mine
In Harry Potter, the biggest punishment out there is destroying someone’s soul. We’re not talking about simply crushing someone in a game of Quidditch, either. Souls get removed thanks to a kiss from a Dementor. This is basically murder, but it’s somehow fair game in this universe.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love
In order to get someone in love with you, a simple potion did the trick in Harry Potter. When it comes to these items, Ron has a bit of history. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, he falls for Romilda Vane after accidentally eating spiked Chocolate Cauldrons. In the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Ron gives Harry’s 14-year-old son Albus one of these potions.

Break Those Chains
Slavery was the hip thing to do in the Harry Potter universe. House-elves were used to do anything their masters wanted. Dobby and Kreacher were two of the biggest house-elves in the series. We’re not sure what would happen if we started telling our dogs to fix us dinner.
