This Mom Made Halloween Costumes For All Of The Babies In The NICU

One Michigan mom went all out to make sure that the babies in Beaumont Hospital- Royal Oak’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit got a special treat this past Halloween.

“My daughter was here at Royal Oak NICU when she was born prematurely,” Ingrid Peeples told FOX 2. “She is 4 and 1/2 years now, so it’s a near and dear place to my heart.”

Dressed To Impress

That’s why Ingrid and her friend Sarah Roberts took the time to create dozens of tiny Halloween costumes to lay over the babies who will be spending their first Halloween in the NICU.

The costumes lend a festive air to the NICU. One baby is dressed as a doughnut, while her neighbor is dressed as a strawberry. Another is a superhero, while yet another is a taco.

Little Jensen, born 11 weeks early, is dressed as a latte. “I was so excited because we were hoping he would be home for Halloween,” Kaitlyn Barber, Jensen’s mother, told FOX 2. “But since he is not we still get to dress him up.”

A Special Wish

Ingrid even made a special wish come true for Tiffany Nwabude and her daughter Paris.

“I think it is so beautiful,” Tiffany said. “It was so nice for the lady to make these for them. She made it special for her because we wanted her to be a princess so she went back and made this special for her.”

Spreading Some Cheer

Ingrid said that she wanted to create the costumes to help cheer up the parents who can’t be home with their little ones to celebrate what might be their baby’s first holiday.

“My friend and I know how hard it is to be in the NICU and bring a little something fun,” Ingrid said. “Some smiles to parents’ faces and to have some sort of memory for the baby, is why we did it.”

Much of the estate is as it was during the 15 years Jackson called it his home, except for a few glaring differences – namely, the removal of the fun-fair rides that gave the home its whimsical name Neverland Ranch. The very last vestiges of where the carousel once spun are still visible as you go through the grounds. Read on for an in-depth view of the ranch.
