The 59th Annual Grammy Awards took place in Staples Center, Los Angeles, and presented an impressive fashion and entertainment experience. James Corden, who was hosting the event for the first time, did a solid job with a funny opening and positivity throughout the whole show. Somewhere in the middle of the show, Corden caught his parents fooling around with Heidi Klum and Nick Jonas. Then the host kissed Heidi on the cheek and walked his dad to meet mom where they all shared an emotional moment.

The absolute winner of the night was Adele who won the 2017 Grammy awards in five categories; for the best album, best song, best video, best pop performance and best pop album. Adele, who was first wearing a lovely olive green grown, changed in the middle of the show into glittering red and black to make her performance of ”Hello” even more effective. In her speech, she praised Beyonce and her album Lemonade for which she said it was grandiose. Although Beyonce won only one award, for Best Urban Contemporary Album, she was still the center of attention. In her first public appearance since she recently announced she was pregnant, Beyonce performed a song ”Love Drought” and dedicated an emotional acceptance speech to her unborn twins afterward.

Chancellor Bennett, a.k.a. Chance The Rapper, won the Best New Artist award and thus delighted Katy Perry, his biggest fan, who was super excited when the host announced his win over The Chainsmokers and Daya, who won the Best Dance Recording award with a song “Don’t Let Me Down”. The award for the best pop duo performance went to Twenty One Pilots with a song “Stressed Out”. One of the highlights of the night was when they accepted the award without the pants and made everyone present laugh, especially Jennifer Lopez who was joyfully smiling through her whole acceptance speech.
