‘Gilmore Girls’ Creator/Producer Admits Lauren Graham Changed Her Life

Published

For many, Gilmore Girls was the best show of the 2000s. The mother-daughter comedy (with its fair share of drama) grasped the hearts of millions and is still cherished by fans in 2019. Following 2016’s Netflix revival, fans can’t get enough of the show. So everyone was excited to see the show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, team up with Lauren Graham (the quirky Lorelai Gilmore) at the recent Producers Guild Awards.

Still Best Friends

Sherman-Palladino and Graham have managed to stay close friends today, long after the show’s 2007 finale and when the Netflix revival aired in 2016. They have a bond many compare to Lorelai and Rory. They’re best friends now their relationship will never change.

It was a surprise when Graham presented Sherman-Palladino (for her work on her current comedy, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) with the prestigious Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television in comedy at the 2018 Producers Guild Awards. Graham was happy to present the award, saying, “To live in an Amy world is to live in a cozy community.”

‘My Life Changed’

Following the awards, Sherman-Palladino and Graham were interviewed by Entertainment Tonight about their long friendship. The Gilmore Girls creator and producer was quick to acknowledge that her life changed the moment Graham walked into her audition.

She remarked, “Literally my life changed when she walked in the door because there was no Gilmore Girls ‘til Lauren Graham existed and you know that is a bond.”

Graham agreed, commenting on how lucky they were to have each other. Not everyone has a close relationship with their producers, but Graham couldn’t imagine her world without the person who brought her Lorelai Gilmore.

More Gilmore Girls?

Following the Netflix revival, everyone wants to know if Sherman-Palladino has plans to continue the series. Fans want more. So, will we get to see what happens next to the Gilmore Girls?

“Let’s get through tonight, honey,” Sherman-Palladino addressed with a laugh.

The award-winning producer is busy writing and producing her current mega-hit Amazon prime comedy. Maybe we’ll return to Stars Hollow in the future, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
