5 Storylines We Want To See In The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel Series

Published

on

In 2020, a Game of Thrones prequel, which takes place thousands of years before the show, is slated to hit HBO. With so many ways they can run this, fans are very curious to where it will go. We look at five possible storylines that can be used for this new series.

Houses In Motion

HBO

With the many houses in Westeros to choose from, the showrunners could produce an entire series about the humble beginnings of just one. Trying to find one house that fans would follow through multiple seasons can be difficult, though. They could turn it into an anthology series like American Horror Story. This means that each season will focus solely on the rise of one house.

The Long Night

HBO

Winter certainly came in the event known as “The Long Night.” During this time period many years before the events of Game of Thrones, White Walkers rose to power over Westeros. Fortunately, they were defeated and sent back to the Lands of Always Winter. We’d love a series about the First Men and Children of the Forest teaming up against the Walkers.

The Known World

HBO

The massive continent of Westeros has been the center of Game of Thrones since day one. With so much happening in the area, a prequel series should focus more on the darker side of it. Many of the region’s secrets can be revealed exclusively through the show instead of the books.

Andal Invasion

HBO

After being taken from their homeland, the race known as the Andals was determined to get revenge on their captors. Over the course of 2,000 years, they managed to overthrow the continent of Westeros. When they were done, the remaining First Men were forced to convert to their culture. A series based on this war can easily take up a few seasons.

Doom Of Valyria

The Doom of Valyria” event is mentioned on Game of Thrones on several occasions. This incident wiped out the entire city of Old Valyria and all of its history. A series surrounding that town prior to its end could be promising. Since there was no known cause for the tragedy, they can easily tease something towards the end.
