‘Game Of Thrones’ Collides With Google On Hilarious Chromebook Campaign

Published

on

Every so often, many of our favorite characters are used to promote real products. Some of these ads can get right to the point while others flounder. One company decided to use a surprising character to promote their popular item.

King Of Chromebooks

Over the years, an increase of Google Chromebooks has been spotted in schools and business. While it’s easily one of the biggest laptops in the world, there are people that don’t get the picture. Fortunately, they’ve got a Game of Thrones character to help pitch this item.

Unfortunately, Tyrion Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen were too busy for this venture. Google did, however, land themselves the Night King and the White Walkers.

Getting It Together

In a minute-long video, the Night King tries to make a slideshow on the Chromebook. At first, the main theme from Game of Thrones plays in the background. Things take a different turn when the King changes the song to Foreigner’s hit song “Cold As Ice.” The King talks to various White Walkers about how his headshot needs to be colder and their next plan of attack.

If that’s not enough, there’s a website that features the slideshow in full for your viewing pleasure. The entire presentation is part of the King’s recruitment of new White Walkers. “With winter on its way below the Wall, the potential from growth in new markets is exciting,” the slideshow states.

We Want You

Fortunately, anyone can join the King on this journey. “Everyone is welcome in the army of the dead, regardless of age, gender, race or species,” the slideshow states. As expected, Game of Thrones fans will simply love this brilliant marketing campaign from Google.

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones airs in 2019 on HBO. The series earned the cable network 47 Emmy wins out of 128 nominations.
