Watch The Full-Length Trailer For ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’

In 2008, the world of television was forever changed with the premiere of Breaking Bad. The AMC drama series lasted five seasons, and in that time garnered 16 Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, two Peabody awards, and countless nominations for its performers and production team. No other show offers the same gritty, immersive experience that Vince Gilligan achieved with Breaking Bad. Gilligan, along with the cast members, transformed the world of television, and now they are going to the big screens with the release of El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
The ‘El Camino’ Full-Length Trailer Has Dropped
Netflix has released several trailers for their El Camino original movie. However, the one released September 24th has fans most excited. Two days before the release of their full-length trailer, Netflix published a short clip of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) sitting in his El Camino, smoking a cigarette and listening to a news report of the murder of Jack and his gang. This presumably happened just after Jesse’s escape. However, the full-length trailer shows much more. It teases a reunion between Badger (Matt Jones), Skinny Pete (Charles Baker), and Jesse right after he escapes captivity from Jack Welker (Michael Bowen) and his Neo-Nazi group. The trailer offers a series of wordless clips of Jesse’s first experiences out of captivity, such as him showering and rinsing the blood and dirt from scars left by Jack. There is a brief flashback from the death of Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) when he is shot by the river. The trailer ends with Jesse meeting an unidentified stranger who asks him, “You ready?” Jesse’s answer leaves much to the imagination, but there is no doubt the movie will be just as intense as the original series.
What We Know About ‘El Camino’ So Far
Luckily for fans, not much has been spoiled about the Breaking Bad movie so far. Netflix has released several trailers but none give much detail, except that the storyline follows Jesse’s escape and new life after the death of Walter White. The first trailer released for El Camino features Skinny Pete, who says he has no idea where Jesse went after escaping his captors. Based on the information from the most recent trailer, this is unlikely, unless Jesse leaves him and Badger without telling them why. The last time viewers see Badger and Skinny Pete is when they are hired by Walt as “hitmen” to threaten Gretchen and Elliot Schwartz. They let Walt know that they haven’t seen Jesse in a while, but they know his blue meth is still being distributed. Based on the nature of the group’s estranged relationship, we can assume it will be painful for Jesse, Badger, and Skinny Pete to reunite. No other Breaking Bad characters have appeared in the trailer, as many of them met their final fate by the end of season 5. Whether viewers will discover what happens to Skyler, Walt Jr., or Brock is undetermined.
Watch ‘El Camino’ This October, At Home Or In Theatres
Fans of Breaking Bad can enjoy the new Netflix movie on October 11th, midnight PT. While the streaming service will have it for the foreseeable future, AMC will also host a brief run of the movie. The AMC airing times have yet to be released but it can be assumed it will premiere during opening weekend. It may even appear in a theater near you from October 11th to the 13th. Select theaters will show the movie during opening weekend only before it will be a Netflix exclusive. Stay tuned to learn more as the El Camino release date gets closer.
