It’s time to head back to Central Perk because Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey, and Phoebe are ready to celebrate Friends in a special way—a movie screening of the beloved sitcom in honor of its 25th anniversary. Fans will be able to watch 12 iconic episodes in three nights. Could we be any more excited?

Heading To The Big Screen

Fans of the popular 1990s and ‘20s sitcom will be able to see Jennifer Aniston [Rachel], Courteney Cox [Monica], Lisa Kudrow [Phoebe], Matt LeBlanc [Joey], Matthew Perry [Chandler], and David Schwimmer [Ross] together in movie theaters for the first time ever for a special screening of 12 episodes over three nights this fall. On September 23, September 28, and October 2, more than 1,000 select U.S. theaters will feature four episodes per night. Each episode has been remastered and the screenings will feature exclusive cast interviews and never-before-seen content from the filming of the iconic sitcom.

It’s not every day that movie theaters show a television show, but this special event, sponsored by Fathom Events, was made possible by the never-ending support of fans across the globe. “The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman [creator], David Crane [creator], Kevin Bright [producer], and the incredibly talented cast,” said Warner Bros. Television Group President & Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Gregorian.

She added, “It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters – for the first time ever! – so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite Friends scenes in a new way.” This is exciting news for thousands of fans, but they’re probably wondering: What episodes will be shown?

Three Nights Of Laughs

It must have been a difficult decision to determine which 12 episodes [out of 236 episodes] to feature for the special celebration, dubbed Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary. However, producers purportedly chose episodes the majority of fans know and love. While it’s impossible to please everyone, these are 12 memorable episodes featuring everyone in the cast.

Some fans might not be able to attend every showing. Luckily, a schedule has been made available for viewers to see which episodes will be presented each night. The episodes will be shown as followed:

  • September 23: “The Pilot, ReDo,” “The One with the Blackout,” “The One with the Birth,” “The One Where Ross Finds Out”
  • September 28: “The One with the Prom Video,” “The One Where No One’s Ready,” “The One with the Morning After,” “The One with the Embryos”
  • October 2: “The One with Chandler in a Box,” “The One with Ross’s Wedding – Part 2,” “The One Where Everyone Finds Out,” “The One Where Ross Got High”

Tickets for Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary are available for purchasing via Fathom Events. Don’t hesitate to purchase your tickets. Your favorite friends are waiting to celebrate their anniversary with you!

Live Like The Friends

That’s not all the excitement for the 25th anniversary of the Friends premiere. Along with the theatrical event, there’s also a new Lego set featuring the characters at Central Perk, as well as two pop-up Central Perk coffee shops in Los Angeles. In addition, New York City is hosting a pop-up experience for fans, with set re-creations, props, and costumes.

Fans will be able to stick a turkey on their heads, take a look inside Monica and Rachel’s purple apartment, relax in Joey and Chandler’s Barcaloungers, play foosball, drink coffee in Central Perk, play Phoebe’s guitar, attempt to “pivot” Ross’s couch, and splash around in the fountain from the sitcom’s opening theme. The pop-up immersive experience runs from September 7 through October 6.

For the diehard Friends fans, the experience will capture the show’s most memorable moments, memorabilia, and more. When you’re done visiting with your favorite friends, head over to the movie theater and watch the most iconic episodes. It doesn’t get any better than that.
