We’re in the early part of 2019, and one thing that’s probably on your mind is the next big flick. 2018 gave us some top-notch movies in every direction. The next 12 months will be completely insane. These five films will surely be the most exciting spectacles and talked about productions in 2019.

With the success of Get Out, Jordan Peele brings us another future horror classic with Us. The film follows a family’s eerie confrontation with doppelgangers. Released on Christmas Day, the trailer for the film gained over 10 million views. It also led to a major surge of streams for Luniz’s “I Got 5 on It.” Us will hit theaters on March 15.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu

Movies based on video games haven’t held high reviews. Movies based on anime have been shunned by their beloved audience. Pokemon: Detective Pikachu will perfectly bring both groups together in perfect harmony. Based on the 2016 video game, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu. Fans of Pokemon can’t wait to see their favorite monsters getting the live action treatment. This flick releases on May 10.

Star Wars: Episode IX

Star Wars: Episode IX will conclude the brand new Star Wars trilogy. While there are no major plot details yet, this will take place one year after The Last Jedi. This will also be the final role for Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016. Her on-screen footage is a mix of unreleased footage from the previous two Star Wars films. Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20.

Toy Story 4

It’s been nearly 10 years since we saw our friends Woody and Buzz Lightyear on the big screen. Toy Story 4 finds Woody finding out about the world on a road trip with friends. As expected, this film will mix familiar faces along with some new ones. In interviews, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have stated this will have the saddest ending in the franchise’s history. We hope you have some Kleenex ready when this drops on June 21.

Following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, fans will pack theaters for Avengers: Endgame. Along with Captain Marvel, the remaining Avengers must try to reverse Thanos’ destructive actions. This is the final time Chris Evans will portray Captain America, which concerns fans of his character’s fate. Avengers: Endgame, which drops on April 26concludes the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
