The Evolution Of Brie Larson Into Captain Marvel

Brie Larson

In previous years, you might have seen a picture of Brie Larson and asked, “Where do I know her from?”. But these days, she’s a well-known celebrity with a lot of well-deserved recognition, including her honorary role as the female powerhouse, Captain Marvel. It wasn’t an easy climb to success, but here’s how she became the star we know and love her as today.

She Started in Hollywood Young

At age six, Brie Larson told her parents, who are both homeopathic chiropractors, that she wanted to be an actress. They took her word for it and it paid off quickly. Later that year, Larson became the youngest student accepted into the San Francisco Student Observatory Theater.

From there during her childhood years, she went on to play in various roles from “Roadkill Easy Bake Oven” to the hit movie, 13 going on 30.

It Wasn’t Always Easy

With her climb to success came a lot of rejection, including her denial for a role in the 2008 hit movie, Juno. She often questioned if it was the right path for her, or if she should just go to school instead.

Every time she got serious about giving up, the next day something would come together, reminding her that she was made for this.

Her Oscar-Worthy Breakthrough

Larson devoured Emma Donoughe’s book, Room, in a single day and knew she had to play the role of Ma, the captive teenager, and Mother.

Her dedication and perseverance to the role ultimately landed her biggest accomplishment in Hollywood yet, an Oscar, and a lasting impression with fans and the entertainment industry alike.

Introducing Captain Marvel

In 2016 at Comic-con came the special announcement that Larson was presented as Captain Marvel. Larson told Vanity Fair, “I couldn’t deny the fact that this movie is everything I care about, everything that’s progressive and important and meaningful, and a symbol I wished I would’ve had growing up.” And so the heroic, female powerhouse was born.
