on

Frozen won the hearts of children and adults alike back in 2013. Thanks to its likable characters, beautiful animation, and catchy songs like “Let it Go”, it proved to be an instant classic. Disney is back with Frozen 2 and it has some interesting surprises in store for us. First, let’s see the recent additions to the cast.

From Killer Robot To Children’s Film

You may have seen Evan Rachel Wood recently as the menacing and tragic Dolores on Westworld. It has now been revealed that she will be joining the cast of Frozen 2. It has not been reported what character she will be playing, but it’s certain that whoever it is, she will imbue the character with her phenomenal acting talents. There is one more important addition that has to be told.

Keeping It In The Disney Family

Sterling K. Brown has been making the rounds in several critically acclaimed projects from Black Panther to This Is Us. It was recently announced that he will be joining the cast of Frozen 2 alongside Evan Rachel Wood. His character has also not been revealed but we’re sure he will knock it out of the park. Now for the most important question: when can we see it in theaters?

Offical Release Date Confirmed

Disney has confirmed that the release date of Frozen 2 is November 27, 2019. This is a full six years after the release of the first film, down to the exact day. Disney is known for their long waits between sequels, but this only serves to ensure quality. They have yet to let us down. As you’ll see, there’s a lot of work going into this particular production.

Lead Actresses Are Done Recording

Both Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, who play Anna and Elsa respectively, have finished recording their dialogue. According to Idina, they started recording in November of 2017. Disney’s long waits often showcase their adamant desire to deliver quality movies every time. It’s clear from what these actresses have said that Disney has been diligently working on Frozen 2 for years to make it the best it can be. And they’re not the only actors returning from Part 1.

Frozen 2 Retains It’s Core Crew

In addition to Kristen and Idina, several other members of the cast from the first film are returning. This includes Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, and Alan Tudyk. In addition, Jennifer Lee will be both the writer and co-director of the film, along with Chris Buck. The fact that pretty much everyone has returned ensures that the sequel will serve as a natural continuation and have the same level of quality.
