Aside from the title reveal, they unveiled the official movie poster. With the tagline “Explorer is her middle name,” she may have been born into this lifestyle.
You Can Lead The Way
The title character is played by newcomer, Isabela Moner. The Cleveland native has been featured in box office hits, Transformers: The Last Knight and Sicario: Day of the Soldado. For Moner, working on the film was a chance to grow as an actress.
“It’s been a great experience and I’ve worked so hard at this. My motto is, if you put 100 percent of you and your energy and everything that you’ve got into something, there’s no way that at least you can fail,” she told Collider. This isn’t Moner’s first run-in with Dora The Explorer. She lent her voice to Kate in Dora and Friends: Into the City. Moner is set to appear in the forthcoming Netflix Christmas movie, Let It Snow.
Heading Our Way This Summer
Dora and the Lost City of Gold is directed by British film director, James Bobin. He’s best known for directing The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Aside from Moner, Eva Longoria, Michael Peña, and Eugenio Derbez will star in the film.
Dora and friends will finally arrive in theaters on August 2, 2019.
