Disney’s “Incredibles 2” Just Made Animated Movie History At The Box Office

Published

Normally, when a sequel comes out over a decade after the original, things tend to get a bit stale. The characters seem out-of-date, the plots don’t seem as exciting, and there’s an overall feeling of “did they wait too long?” However, after what happened when the recent animated film Incredibles 2 was released, the box office may never be the same.

Opening Numbers Were Super-Human!

To say this Disney/Pixar sequel did well, would be the biggest understatement of all time! This feature film earned a whopping $504,382,414 during its opening weekend. That’s right. Half a billion dollars! And that’s only in the U.S.!

Can you even imagine the numbers this movie will do once it’s opened up everywhere?! It’s almost too crazy to think about.

Who’s Their Competition?

Currently, amongst all movies, Incredibles 2 is ranked #11 on the list of highest grossing movies of all time. And, in another $30 million dollars, they will take the place of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It sounds like Disney knows how to pick movies that sell.

Does Disney even know what the word “failure” means?! We sincerely doubt it. Seriously though, the fact that they would be surpassing their already lucrative Star Wars franchise means nothing but more exorbitant wealth for the ingenious executives over at Disney.

But… Is It Really Worth It?

Yes, yes, a thousand times, YES! The long wait for this brilliant movie was more than worth it. Not only have your favorite characters gotten better (and more hilarious), the same can be said for Pixar’s jaw-dropping animation skills. Seriously. This film is breathtaking.

The opening for Incredibles 2 has done nothing but surpassed everybody’s expectations, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. And with this voluminous increase in fan appreciation for any and everything Incredibles, who knows how much money this insanely successful movie can make?! Only time will tell.
