The 3D model for the parks were first made available on public display during Disney’s D23 Expo conducted last weekend.

The Star Wars theme parks were first conceptualized two years ago and are expected to be launched two years from now, in 2019.

By that time, fans will be able to take part in and enjoy interactive missions up on board the Millennium Falcon or down on the Resistance battleground to be experienced on an exciting unidentified planet.

Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Bob Chapek excitedly shared: “It’s unlike anything that exists today. From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. This is the most ambitious land we’ve built to date.”

Chapek further enticed fans:  “Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Scott Mallwitz revealed about the park: “As you move through the areas, you might be recruited to join one side or the other. Are you a spy? Are you part of the Resistance or willing to join the First Order? It’s up to you. And your role inside of that will be defined by how you choose.”

Along with these parks, Disney is also all set to open a Star Wars-themed resort, which will boast of interactive hotel stays and costumes.
