Shocking New Discoveries In ‘Making A Murderer’ Case Have Us All On The Edge of Our Seats

Since 2015, both seasons of Netflix hit series, Making a Murderer, has taken viewers for a suspenseful ride. The show documents the 2005 murder case of Teresa Halbach and convicted suspect, Steven Avery. Halbach was last seen on the Avery Salvage Yard compound photographing a minivan to be listed for sale. Avery’s nephew, Brendan Dassey, was also sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in the case, despite any physical evidence towards his conviction.

What’s happening with the case now?

After Steven Avery was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Halbach during his original 2007 trial, he has since been appointed a new attorney, Kathleen Zellner. Viewers have fallen in love with Zellner for her ‘take no crap’ attitude and her deflation of unlawful allegations against Avery.

Ten years after the death of Halbach, Zellner has rattled a new theory, debunking the notion around the bones that were found in the Manitoc County gravel pit. She states that there’s no proof the bones found in this gravel pit belong to Teresa Halbach. This could contradict the fact the State’s theory that Hallbach was killed and burned in Steven Avery’s burn pit.

What’s more, is the state of Wisconsin claims that all “biological matter” or “physical evidence” must be upheld until the imprisoned defendant is released. Which directly goes against the fact that many “human bones” were returned to Teresa Halbach’s family with no proof that the States Attorney or Avery’s attorneys were ever notified, therefore a direct violation of the State Law. Zellner believes this was another attempt from the States Attorney’s office to entrap her client by hiding forensic evidence.

So, what does this mean for Steven Avery?

Kathleen Zellner announced on February 25, 2019, that Steven Avery could now receive a new trial after winning this motion in his appeal.

A third season for Making a Murderer has yet to be confirmed. Although it would be downright unjust to leave us at the edge of our seats without an update on Steven Avery’s case.
