5 Deleted Scenes From Famous Movies That Should Have Made The Cut

Updated

on

A lot of movies give us a blooper reel at the end, but you usually have to wait for the DVD to check out the deleted scenes that the director cut from the final film. Sometimes these scenes are cut for good reason, but some of the deleted scenes we’re talking about today definitely deserved to be in the original film. Except for the last scene on our list. That one’s just funny. Check them out!

It’s Just Your Water Weight

Mean Girls is must-see classic that people are still quoting to this day. But this little Kalteen Bar skit could have stayed in the final film. In the theatrical cut, Lindsay Lohan’s character sabotages Rachel McAdams’ figure with Kalteen Bars, which make you gain extra weight. That’s what makes this scene an extra-funny addition that should have remained.

Katniss The Revolution

This scene deleted from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is hilarious and we definitely think it should have been included in the movie. Elizabeth Banks’ Effie Trinket didn’t get as much screentime in the third and fourth movies as fans wanted, so it’s a great (and hilarious) scene showing her bond with Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss.

Christmas Coffee

Home Alone is a Christmas classic, but the final cut is really missing something without this funny scene between the “Wet Bandits,” Harry and Marv. In it, they’re searching for Kevin when they decide to take a break to “enjoy” a cup of Marv’s Christmas coffee. The scene is completely improvised, which makes it even better!

My Eyebrows Grew Back!

This deleted scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is such a good introduction to Hogwarts and the power dynamics between the students we’ll get to know over the next several movies that it’s a surprise they cut it at all. In it, Neville Longbottom suffers a curse put on him by Draco Malfoy, and Seamus offers to help, only to be mocked for a fire spell that burned his eyebrows off. Pay special attention to the back of Seamus’ head at the end of this one!

That Really Sucks, Lady!

This technically isn’t a deleted scene, but rather an alternate ending to 1997’s Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. We’re including it because it’s so unintentionally funny, you might mistake it for a blooper. Though the scene does a better job than the theatrical film of wrapping up the present-day storyline, it’s so full of cringe moments and glib moralizing, you’ll be rolling your eyes the whole time (and quoting it with your friends for weeks).
