5 Deleted Scenes That Would Have Drastically Changed ‘Game Of Thrones’

Published

on

The final season of ‘Game Of Thrones’ is right around the corner, and fans couldn’t be more excited. Who will finally win the Iron Throne? We’ll have to wait to find out. But, in the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the deleted scenes from the hit TV series that would’ve changed everything.

The Littlefinger Discussion

There are many villains in this show, but Littlefinger is among the most hated. And with good reason. So his murder in the season seven finale was a welcome one. But how did the Stark children learn about all of Littlefinger’s deceptions? In a now-deleted scene, we learn that the confirmation came from Bran. He used his abilities to learn about Littlefinger’s evil behavior and tells Sansa.

Jon Snow, Sansa, And Ghost

In another scene also originally supposed to be in season seven, Jon Snow tasks the favorite dire wolf Ghost with keeping Sansa safe while he is away finding Khaleesi. The dire wolves have always played a central role in the Stark family, so it says a lot that Jon left this job to the last remaining Stark dire wolf.

The Killing Of Irri

Fans of the show may have forgotten about Doreah, who was Daenerys’ original handmaiden. She helped teach Daenerys the art of seduction and such. What viewers did not get to see, though, is the deleted scene from the second season when Doreah kills Irri, another one of Daenery’s handmaids, by strangling her.

A White Walker Investigation

Everyone knows the main enemy in ‘Game Of Thrones’ is the White Walkers. However, not everyone in Westeros was always convinced of their existence or that winter was actually coming. However, in a deleted scene from season two, we learn that Tywin Lannister actually did take the warning seriously. Had this scene been included, it likely would have taken the audience’s perception of Tywin to a new level.

Sansa And The Hound

Sansa’s journey throughout the series has been an intense and brutal one. In the early seasons, though, she was seen as innocent and delicate— so much so that The Hound nicknamed her “little bird.” However, in a deleted scene from the second season, Sansa has a moment where she stands up to The Hound. Had this been included, it would have been the first indication of Sansa’s strength to come.

They are the bad guy, and most films make sure that fact is clear to viewers from the get go. When it isn’t, they do a good job of clarifying later on. A closer look at the motives that drive some of the most notorious villains in film often reveals that they’re often not all that bad. Read on, and you’ll discover you probably agree with them.
