Cute Rescued Animal Was Unrecognizable Until It Took a Big Bath!

Most nature rescuers have some sort of inkling as to what type of animals they’re rescuing… but that was not the case when it came to this poor, dirty animal! Rescuers found this poor little guy outside of London’s Canary Wharf, and it’s a miracle that they even were able to spot it! The little guy was completely covered in mud – it could have been anything. All it really needed was a huge bath with lots of soap and water to reveal what was hiding underneath.

The animal was found stuck in a muddy hole in a construction site, unable to get out. It’s lucky that the rescuers got there when they did, as there was a high likelihood of suffocation or hypothermia due to all of the mud!

The animal, which looked like it might be a small bear cub or dog, was rushed to the South Essex Wildlife Hospital where he was all cleaned up. Once he got clean, it was discovered that the mysterious mud animal was actually an adorable red fox! The staff at the hospital decided to name him Muddsey – a very fitting name! They gave him some medicine and lots of food to help Muddsey recover his strength, and now he’s ready to go back into the wild where he belongs. Let’s hope he stays out of mud holes this time…

There are approximately 7.6 million companion animals that are rescued every year, and the majority of the animals that are rescued are cats and dogs! That’s exactly what these animal rescuers were expecting when they started this endeavor, but instead they found Muddsey! He may not be a dog or a cat, but he’s very cute and we’re happy to hear that he can return home in good condition!
