The Coincidence Project Will Have You Taking A Second Look At Everything You See

Published

on

Denis Cherim is a photographer based in London who likes to create images that challenge our perceptions. He’s recently published a series of images called The Coincidence Project and we’re positive that you’ll want to look at each of them at least twice to truly appreciate what’s on offer. Check them out.

For This You Need Two Trees And Patience

Instagram

That there’s another tree of a similar size projecting its shadow perfectly on the wall in front of another tree. It’s an incredible coincidence.

As Light Breaks Through

Instagram

This is the kind of photo we could all take if we were willing to spend weeks or months analyzing sunrise and waiting for the right weather conditions. It’s amazing.

The Sparkles Of Duck

Instagram

We guess that you’d have to wait on the shore and hope that a duck turned up in the sun’s reflection to grab this shot.

You won’t believe who turns up in the next shot.

Two Completely Different Flight Paths

Instagram

This appears to be Jesus Christ himself exhibiting magical powers or possibly touching the trail of an aircraft exhaust. We like the first explanation better.

The Wheel Within A Wheel

Instagram

This ferris wheel looks near-perfect as seen through the spiral decoration on a railing some distance away. That it was taken at night adds even more thrill to this.

The Frog You Need

Instagram

This shot only works thanks to the frog sat on the ledge of the building. Denis must be an incredibly observant person to have caught this.

There are other optical illusions coming up soon on our list.

Optical Illusion Time

Instagram

This is great. The railings of the fence appear to make the water solid and bend it at the same time. It’s a perfect natural optical illusion.

Architectural Lego Games

Instagram

This does make it look like the building in the background could neatly fit in the gap left by the building in the foreground. It’s like Lego in real life.

The Wheels On The Bikes Don’t Go Round And Round

Instagram

This shot would be impossible if the bikes were moving, but the concentric circles offer a really atmospheric shot with them parked up on the boardwalk.

They’ve Been Framed!

Instagram

We’re not sure what these frames are for. Possibly children’s swings? Yet, they are super for putting these trees into perspective. You could even argue these look like before and after shots for a Weight Gain program for arboreal lifeforms.
