After 34 years, the original Karate Kid is back in a new web series. Cobra Kai follows Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso and their personal struggles since the film. In order to brush up on their rivalry, fans are getting a special treat.

Wax On, Wax Off

Fathom Events is set to deliver the iconic 1984 film to over 700 theaters nationwide on Wednesday, April 25. If that’s not enough, they’re also airing the first two episodes of Cobra Kai as a bonus.

Tickets for this event are on sale right now, and they’re going fast.

The Saga Continues

Debuting on YouTube Red on May 2, Cobra Kai reunites Karate Kid stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Both stars were extremely ecstatic to reprise their roles for a newer generation. This isn’t the first time that talk of a live-action Karate Kid show was being thrown around.

“I’ve been asked and pitched many times over the years. This was a smart and fresh angle, and I believe things happen at a certain time for a certain reason, and this was just the right time,” Macchio said at the Television Critics Association press tour. Macchio and Zabka reunited in 2007 for No More Kings’ music video for “Sweep the Leg,” which was produced by Zabka.

Balance Is Key

Cobra Kai was co-created by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who are best known for the Harold & Kumar franchise. Aside from Macchio and Zabka, the show will also star Body of Proof actress Mary Mouser, Designated Survivor actor Tanner Buchanan, and Parenthood actor Xolo Maridueña.

On Tuesday, April 24, the show will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The screening with be followed by a Q&A session with the cast and crew.
