Good Morning, Angels: Where Are ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Today?

Published

on

Whether it was the original show or the film adaptations, Charlie Angels brought powerful women to your screen. Thankfully, a few more ladies will be joining this elite group with the forthcoming reboot film. Before its release, we look at how some of our favorite Angels have been doing lately.

Bowing Out Gracefully

Following season three of the show, Kate Jackson, who played Sabrina Duncan, left to find new roles. Jackson made a strong TV comeback with Scarecrow and Mrs. King, which lasted four seasons. After a shrinkage of roles, Jackson quietly retired from acting in 2007. Her last role was in the Criminal Minds episode “Honor Among Thieves.”

My Dear Watson

Lucy Liu helped revived the franchise as Alex Munday in the 2000s films. Since 2012, she’s been solving crimes as Joan Watson in Elementary. Her performance earned her three consecutive Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress nominations at the People’s Choice Awards. When she’s not on the set, Liu is spending time with her son Rockwell Lloyd.

Through The End

Jaclyn Smith was the only female lead to stick through the entire run of the original series. 22 years after the show ended, she made a cameo appearance in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle as Kelly Garrett. She has become a successful businesswoman with numerous fashion and beauty brands to her name.

A Box Office Queen

Cameron Diaz’s portrayal of Natalie Cook in the films aided in her box office dominance. As of 2019, she’s the fifth highest grossing female film star with her films grossing $3 billion. In 2018, Diaz announced that she retired from acting after a 22-year career. She’s currently living in Long Beach with her husband Benji Madden of the band Good Charlotte.

Mother Knows Best

Following her role of Kris Munroe, Cheryl Ladd has popped up on TV every now and then. In 2016, Ladd portrayed Linell Shapiro in the Emmy winning The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. In 2018, she co-starred with her daughter Jordan in The Christmas Contract. This was their first time working together since 1998’s Every Mother’s Worst Fear. Outside of acting, Ladd is an ambassador for child abuse prevention organization Childhelp.
