Chadwick Boseman Breaks Down How Hollywood Made Him Strong

Published

on

Even in the early days of cinema, a leading man (especially a “hero”) needed to be in tip-top shape. These actors are to be seen as brave, wise, but above all, strong. While other fads have come and gone in the movie industry, the fitness requirements of a top-billed star have only gotten more stringent. There is a handful of actors out there who can live up to the hype, but none more so than Chadwick Boseman.

The Next Big Thing

Many are only just now becoming aware of Chadwick after his insanely successful portrayal as Black Panther. But you may be surprised to hear that this healthy thespian has been burning calories on set for years now.

In fact, Chadwick attributes his current fit physique not only to Black Panther but to his past gigs as well.

Learning From Experience

Before he was the most famous person in Wakanda, Chadwick pleased audiences everywhere with his portrayal of Jackie Robinson in the critically-acclaimed motion picture, 42.

Not only was hand-eye coordination a must in order to properly depict the sports legend, but speed and agility played a major role as well. In take after take, Chadwick worked to perfect the iconic sprint and slide of Jackie Robinson.

So, What’s His Secret?

His time on the baseball diamond wasn’t the end of his on-set fitness regimen. The weeks he spent shooting Get on Up, in which he played James Brown, were also physically demanding.

Seeing as how he’s more fit than ever has got everyone in the country asking how he’s able to keep up such a healthy lifestyle. Interestingly enough, Chadwick prefers to keep his workout secrets, well, just that—secret! Perhaps one day we’ll know the Wakandan recipe for ultimate fitness, but until then we’re just going to lay off the carbs.
