Celine Wasn’t Born Into Money

Many successful musicians come from successful families who can help them socially and financially on their rise to fame.  However, that wasn’t the case for Dion. She came from a large family that struggled to make ends meet in her early childhood. Dion said in an interview, “Three or four of us in the same bed was normal to us. We weren’t poor, but we never had money… We were given love and affection and support. What else did we need?”

She Had Fame And Fortune, But Celine Wanted Something More

Celine Dion married her lifelong partner and manager Rene Angelil in 1994. Their relationship was always strong, but they struggled for many years to have children. Celine even suffered a miscarriage before she was able to conceive via in-vitro fertilization. Though their hardship was very public, Celine kept a positive attitude and never gave up on her dream to have a family. She and Rene had three sons together.

Celine’s Heart “Will Go On” After Tragic Loss

Celine Dion lost many of her loved ones, including her brother, niece, brother-in-law, and father throughout her career. The hardest loss, however, was of her beloved husband in 2016. Rene lost his battle with cancer, just days before Celine’s brother passed. At Rene’s memorial, Celine told the crowd, “He’s always been on stage with me, and nothing will ever change that.” She has continued to push forward for her family and has shown the world that even the most difficult loss doesn’t have to stop you from being happy with the loved ones you have.
