You know what they say – with each passing year, we get older and wiser. Well, this list of fierce, fabulous, and fifty-and-older celebrity women proves just that and more. Read on to see some of your favorite famous females you didn’t know are over 50 but prove that age really is just a number anyway.
1. Christie Brinkley: 65
American model and actress, Christie Brinkley earned her place in the limelight following her late 1970s appearances in different Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues. As a matter of fact, she made it onto an unprecedented three covers consecutively beginning in 1979.
On February 2, 2019, Brinkley celebrated her milestone 65th birthday, telling People, “Groundhog’s Day is my birthday, and I’ll be turning 50 for the 15th time.” That’s one way to look at it! And so it seems the supermodel can also double as a comedian… and maybe even a dancer, too? Having joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars‘ 28th season, it seems we’re going to be seeing a lot more of Brinkley in the near future and we ain’t complaining.
2. Susan Sarandon: 72
Award-winning actress, Susan Sarandon made a name for herself in the Hollywood limelight towards the end of the ’80s and early ’90s. She is well known for her performances in films like Bull Durham, Thelma and Louise, and Dead Man Walking.
But many fans argue that perhaps her most noteworthy role was in the 1975 cult film classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. As one of her first films, there’s no doubt that it helped put her on the path to greatness. As she grows older in age, Sarandon claims, “If you can continue to say yes to life and to maintain a certain generosity of spirit, you become more and more of who you are.” Thanks for the wisdom, girl!
3. Sheryl Crow: 57
“All I Wanna Do” singer, Sheryl Crow has a special prowess when it comes to creating the perfect sing-along. A platinum-selling recording artist, she has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and is the winner of nine Grammy Awards. But there’s more to Crow than just her music.
The musician has also dabbled her feet in acting, having appeared on a number of different TV shows such as 30 Rock and One Tree Hill. Over the past few years, however, her career hasn’t been the only thing at the forefront of her mind. After beating breast cancer and being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, Crow’s focus turned towards her health. But thankfully, she is said to be doing well and is working on what she says will be her final album, “Threads.”
4. Morgan Fairchild: 69
With big, voluminous blonde hair, Dallas-born, Morgan Fairchild became one of Hollywood’s first soap opera stars of the ’70s and ’80s. She started her career as Jennifer Pace on CBS’ daytime series, Search for Tomorrow and afterwards grabbed hold of her Texas roots when she played Jenna Wade in the Primetime soap opera, Dallas.
Fairchild sure hasn’t slowed down with age, as she’s appeared on a number of TV shows in the last decade including Two and a Half Men, My Name is Earl, and Days of Our Lives. With a proven talent of being timeless, the 69-year-old actress currently uses her Twitter to draw attention to humanitarian and healthcare issues.
5. Michelle Pfeiffer: 61
Having begun her acting career in 1978, Michelle Pfeiffer landed her first leading role in musical film, Grease 2 and then rose to fame thanks to a number of class ’80s films such as Scarface, The Witches of Eastwick, and Dangerous Liaisons.
But while she has received several accolades for the different roles she has taken on over the years, she is also nearly as famous for those she didn’t take on. Nicknamed Dr. No by her agent, Pfeiffer famously turned down roles on Pretty Woman, Thelma and Louise, and Silence of the Lambs – just to name a few. Nowadays, the 61-year-old actress is still making appearances on the big screen – with her most recent role being in Maleficent 2 – and she also just launched her own perfume line: Henry Rose.
6. Halle Berry: 53
Actress, Halle Berry hasn’t had the easiest time in Hollywood. Following her breakthrough role in the 1992 romantic comedy, Boomerang, she went on to star in a number of box office hits from the ’00s like X-Men, Swordfish, Die Another Day, and Monster’s Ball – for which she became the first (and to this day, only) African American woman to win the Oscar for Best Actress.
But the 2004 release of Catwoman changed the trajectory of Berry’s career and critics claim she spent years recovering from its failure. Fortunately, it seems as though her career may have course-corrected after co-starring with Keanu Reeves in John Wick 3. She is now executive producer of BET’s Boomerang series – which is an update of her 1992 film – and she is also set to make her directorial debut in thriller, Bruised in 2019.

Continuing her career in modeling, Crawford spoke to Christine Lennon at Porter magazine about how she is able to remain relevant today, saying, “I just do stuff that’s interesting to me. Her big breakthrough came in 1989 following her work in the thriller, Dead Calm and since then, she has won an astounding number of awards. At just 52 years of age, the actress has five Golden Globes, two Emmys, an Oscar, and a British Academy Film Award to her name. Kidman isn’t the only actress on this list that’s tied to Big Little Lies. Any guesses as to who that may be?
11. Goldie Hawn: 73

But in 2004, she broke away from band life in pursuit of a solo career and we’re oh so happy she did. Seriously, who doesn’t love a good living room jam sesh to “Hollaback Girl?” Since then, she has made an appearance on a few seasons of the reality singing competition, The Voice. But perhaps her most well-known role was as Frances “Baby” Houseman in the 1987 hit romance drama, Dirty Dancing. The film sure showcased her dance moves, so it shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that the actress took home a win on Dancing with the Stars in 2010 alongside her professional partner, Derek Hough. Having turned 59 in March of 2019, Grey has shown us she’s clearly still got it. It must be all that dancing that keeps her young.

After 15 years of working on the Today show, Couric signed a deal with CBS in 2006 to become the first woman to solo anchor their Evening News program.
