Published

on

When celebrities have children, it’s usually only a matter of time before the kids find themselves in the spotlight. While some avoid the public eye, others bask in it. So much so that they choose to pursue careers in Hollywood themselves — and become so well-known, they end up almost eclipsing their own famous parents.

Let’s take a look at some of the children of stars who have made a name for themselves.

Sofia Richie and Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie is infamously known for his singing. His daughter, Sofia Richie, on the other hand, found her calling in modeling. Jaden Smith and Will Smith

You would be hard-pressed to come across someone more famous than Will Smith, who has had a monumentally successful singing and acting career. But his son, Jaden Smith, has followed right behind in his father’s footsteps, mastering everything from acting to rapping. In Jaden’s very first movie, The Pursuit of Happyness, he got to co-star alongside his father. This role earned him the 2007 MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance.

Brooklyn Beckham and Victoria Beckham

With two famous parents, it’s only inevitable that Brooklyn Beckham had stardom in his DNA. Son to Victoria Beckham (fashion designer, model, and former member of the Spice Girls) and David Beckham (retired professional soccer player), Brooklyn has made a name for himself through both acting and photography. His career first started, though, by modeling in photoshoots for his mother’s company.

So it makes sense that his son, Scott Eastwood, has himself become an award-winning actor. In 2015, he won a Teen Choice Award for Actor in a Drama for his role in The Longest Ride.

Lily Rose Depp and Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has had quite the whirlwind of a career. But the daughter of The Pirates of the Caribbean star, Lily Rose, recently broke into acting herself with her role in Yoga Hosers. However, she has made it clear that she’s received no handouts just because of who her father is.

“A lot of people think I’m only acting because of my dad, that I have not had to work as hard to be seen or recognized in the industry, so I think because of that it makes me want to work twice as hard,” Depp said to CR Fashion Book.
