The Low Down Celebrities Who’ll Leave the Country If Trump Wins Published 3 years ago on Oct 23, 2015 By Hailee Mannes Not all famous people in Hollywood are comfortable enough with disclosing their political opinions, but the celebrities on this list has been VERY opinionated about one subject – Donald Trump. They’re not looking forward to him maybe winning the election, to say the least. In fact, they all said they’ll leave the US if he becomes the next president! Is it possible that Canada will become a hot spot amongst celebrities? Time will tell… 1. Eddie Griffin When the comedian was interviewed by DJ Vlad about his opinions regarding to Trump, Griffin had a lot to say about his racist views. “He’s good at making money, but he’s ignorant,” Said Griffin. frank151.com The Malcolm & Eddie star even vowed that “If Trump wins, I’m moving to Africa.“ Now that’s a commitment! 2. Amber Rose When the model and former stripper, mainly known as Kanye West’s ex, was asked by US Weekly about the possibility of Trump winning, she had a very clear answer. “I can’t even think about it! I’m moving, I’m out! I can’t. And I am taking my son with me!” She said. Michael Loccisano/Getty Images Tell us how you really feel, Amber! 3. Natasha Lyonne The Orange Is the New Black star has other plans than just leaving to another country if Trump is elected. When asked about it by Vanity Fair, Lyonne said she’ll wind up going “straight to hell, or a mental hospital for a while. Because you’re like, ‘Why is this happening?’” Fernando Leon/Getty Images Not exactly fleeing the country, but you get the gist. 4. Amy Schumer The comedian is another person who doesn’t see anything funny about Trump becoming president. Schumer has plans on relocating to somewhere exotic, too! You won’t find her merely crossing the border to Canada. Theo Wargo/NBC/Getty Images for ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ She told BBC Newsnight, “I will need to learn to speak Spanish because I will move to Spain or somewhere… It’s beyond my comprehension if Trump won. It’s too crazy.” 5. Omari Hardwick The Saved and Dark Blue actor told The Warp that if indeed Trump ends up being president of the US, he will “move from Denver to Italy… If Donald Trump wins the presidency, I’m out,” the actor said. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images Sound serious! He won’t mind the change of cuisine, for sure. 6. Chelsea Handler Just like her colleague Amy Schumer, Handler set Sapin as her go-to destination in case Trump wins the election. When appearing on Live with Kelly and Michael, Handler said “I did buy a house in another country just in case, so all of these people that threaten to leave the country and then don’t, I will leave the country”. Mike Windle/Getty Images for amfAR The funnywoman later revealed to Vanity Fair that this house is indeed in Spain. “I have a house in Spain that’s going to be ready right after the election,” she said. 7. Spike Lee Well, the director being on this list is kind of cheating. He didn’t say he will leave the United States, he just thinks there’s only one city in the US that will remain a Republican-free stronghold. Kevin Winter/Getty Images Lee told Vanity Fair that in case Trump wins, he will be “moving back to the republic of Brooklyn, New York”. This sure is an Interesting idea! 8. Barbra Streisand The award winning singer, actress and overall American icon confessed to Australian journalist Michael Usher that she won’t have it if Trump is elected. Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images for DGA “He has no facts. I don’t know, I can’t believe it. I’m either coming to your country [Australia], if you’ll let me in, or Canada,” Streisand said. 9. Barry Diller The businessman has no problem when it comes to relocating. He can pretty much afford anywhere in the world, and he won’t be afraid to do just that if Trump will end up at the White House. Larry Busacca/Getty Images for The New York Times “If Donald Trump doesn’t fall, I’ll either move out of the country or join the resistance,” he told Bloomberg. You would expect him to support a fellow businessman though, right? 10. Cher In case you missed it, Cher’s Twitter account is a goldmine. The iconic singer is not afraid to express her most inner thoughts for the world to see, and is not shy about her opinion on Donald Trump. Frazer Harrison/Getty Images When Trump’s campaign began to pick up speed, the Believe singer tweeted: @gabeAlfassy IF HE WERE TO BE ELECTED,IM MOVING TO JUPITER ???? — Cher (@cher) June 16, 2015 11. Jon Stewart Former Daily Show host, Jon Stewart was never afraid to be vocal about his political views. Well, I guess that when you’re hosting The Daily Show it’s part of the job. While he did vote for Republican candidates in the past (the last being George H. W. Bush in 1988), This time around he as very strong negative opinions about the Republican candidate. Brad Barket/Getty Images for Comedy Central When asked about a possible Trump win at the 2015 Emmy Awards, he said “I would consider getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet’s gone bonkers”. Well, maybe he should consider moving with Cher to Jupiter. 12. Ne-Yo Another celebrity who isn’t shy about expressing his political views is R&B singer, Ne-Yo. The singer has said in the past that he would move to Canada “straight away” if Trump won the election. Canada seems to be popular these days! Frazer Harrison/Getty Images When discussing her choice of relocation, the actress added, “I always wanted to live in Italy, so that might be a good time.” 14. Bryan Cranston The Breaking Bad star isn’t shy about his lack of appreciation towards the Republican presidential candidate. He said he would “Absolutely, definitely move” if Trump became president. Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions Cranston then added, “It’s not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won’t”. 15. Jennifer Lawrence Another famous face who doesn’t bother hiding her dislike towards Donald Trump is The Hunger Games star and Academy Award winner, Jennifer Lawrence. Juan Naharro Gimenez/Getty Images Lawrence has said in a recent interview, “If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world.” So you’ll be moving, then? 16. George Lopez Another funny man who just can’t imagine staying in the US if Trump wins is actor, comedian and talk-show host George Lopez. Lopez told TMZ that he thinks there are “enough racists in this country for (Trump) to get elected.” Ouch. Mark Davis/Getty Images for TV Land Lopez was born in Los Angeles but he is of Mexican descent, and went on saying that if Trump does win, “He won’t have to worry about immigration. We’ll all go back.” 17. Chloë Sevigny The Big Love actress and fashion icon wasn’t hesitant when asked where she’ll move if Trump will become president. “Nova Scotia,” she simply said to The Scene. Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images So Sevigny has even chosen a place IN Canada to be her new home! Crafty. 18. Barry Diller The media mogul and husband of fashion designer, Diane von Fustenberg was quoted saying that he would “put money on” Trump not winning the presidency, since he’s certain that it’s not even possible. Scott Olson/Getty Images The billionaire and Television Hall of Fame member later added that in the case of Trump winning the elections, he would either “move out of the country or join the resistance.” 19. Jenny Slate Actress Jenny Slate thinks a Trump presidency is far from being ideal. The Zootopia star didn’t exactly say she would move out of the US in case Trump won, but she did make another controversial statement about the Republican candidate. Michael Buckner/Getty Images for BFCA In a recent interview, Slate said “If Donald Trump wins the presidency, a pig will fly out of my b**thole, because it will be a nightmare.” 20. Kathryn Hahn Another Hollywood actress who isn’t much of a Trump fan is Bad Moms star Kathryn Hahn. When asked where she would move if Trump won the elections, the actress mentioned Iceland as her new residence of choice. Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images Being the oldest democracy in the world, it makes sense why Iceland seems appealing. 21. Armie Hammer In a recent interview with Vanity Fair magazine, the Social Network actor said that he is also planning to leave the country if Donald Trump happens to win the elections. Cindy Ord/Getty Images for SiriusXM In the case of a Trump presidency, Hammer jokingly stated he would move to the Caribbean and start his own jet ski rental business. King has said that he would move to Canada in the unlikely case of Trump winning the elections. Larry French/Getty Images King then added, “A Trump presidency scares me more than anything else. It’s like 10 minutes from Detroit and that’s where I’m from”. 26. Mark Wilson/Getty Images “I can’t imagine what the country would be with Donald Trump as our president… Now it’s time for us to move to New Zealand,” she told The New York Times. 27. Rosie O’Donnell The not-so-shy actress has a LONG history with the Republican candidate. The two haven’t been on the best of terms for the last decade, so her statement about leaving the country if he became president is no shocker. Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Trump, in return, said during a phone interview with Fox & Friends: “Now I have to get elected!”. However, just like Whoopi Goldberg, O’Donnell later tweeted that she’s never leaving the US, no matter who gets elected. 28. Raven Symoné Apparently, the former child star and current TV host already made arrangements in case Trump will be elected. Symoné said on The View, “My confession for this election is if any Republican gets nominated, I’m going to move to Canada with my entire family.” Neilson Barnard/Getty Images The star then added, “I already have my ticket. Only because he’d probably have me deported anyhow.” 31. Samuel L. Jackson The Pulp Fiction star doesn’t take Donald Trump very seriously, but he’s not a fan of his, either. When interviewed on The View, Jackson said “He’s just running for popularity. C’mon, just let it go.” John Sciulli/Getty Images for The Weinstein Co However, the actor later did say to Jimmy Kimmel, “If [Trump] becomes president, I will move to South Africa”. I don’t know if promises made on late night TV count, but I guess we’ll find out soon! 32. Whoopi Goldberg The actress and TV host said on The View that if Americans were capable of electing someone as racist and sexist as Donald Trump, then “I don’t want it to be America. maybe it’s time for me to move.” Ouch. Larry Busacca/Getty Images for CAA Later, when Trump’s son suggested he’d buy her plane ticket, Goldberg assured that she’s “not going anywhere as this is [my] country”. We’ll wait to see what she decides to do after the election… 33. Miley Cyrus The singer and actress is another celebrity who never hid the way she felt about Trump.
