These five down to earth stars have made genuine friends with their fans in one way or another. Either by chance or persistence from the fan, they were able to meet some of their supporters and create a connection.

Taylor Swift Brightens A College Student’s Day

Many girls look up to Taylor Swift, but not all make the impression that Rebekah Bortniker did in 2015 with her dedication video of Taylor and her squad to the theme song of Friends. In return, Taylor sent Rebekah a little appreciation gift, adding her to the squad. The fan received a package including an original art piece by Taylor, a Polaroid of her creating the piece, a necklace that had belonged to Swift, and $1,989 to help her pay off her student loans.

Mila Kunis Attends The Ball With An American Hero

Veterans receive our gratitude, but not all of them get to dine with superstar Mila Kunis. However, Sgt. Scott Moore decided he would take a chance and ask her to a dance via Youtube video. His proposal was short and sweet: “Hey, Mila. It’s Sgt. Moore, but you can call me Scott. I just want to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on Nov. 18 [2011] in Greenville, N.C., with yours truly.” Mila accepted the invitation and brightened the days of all of the Marines that had just survived a grueling tour of Afghanistan.

In 2014, Miley Cyrus let her friend Jesse Helt accept her MTV Video Of The Year award for “Wrecking Ball,” which truly shocked fans and award attendees. But apparently, Cyrus met Helt years prior when she visited a Los Angeles homeless shelter, My Friend’s Place. Helt made a speech at the awards, saying “I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know, because I am one of those people.”

One Fan Brings The Miami Heat To Prom

In 2013, Miami Heat fan Nicole Muxo invited her favorite player, Dwyane Wade, to the senior prom. Though Wade had originally declined the offer, he was able to make a last minute appearance when the team eliminated the Chicago Bulls from the NBA playoffs. The Miami Herald wrote a story about the prom, saying that Wade called her ‘to tell her to have a good night’ before surprising her by showing up at the door.

Ed Sheeran has helped a number of fans propose, but in 2014 he accepted a proposal from Katie Papworth. Katie was terminally ill at the time and asked Sheeran to marry her in the hospital. Sheeran accepted and even planned a ceremony for her before she passed away. Sheeran said in an interview, “I still have the ring Katie gave to me and I treasure it.” He is and always will be a beloved part of the Papworth family.
