Captain Marvel’s Actual Superpowers Explained As Told By The New Trailer

Published

on

With the release of the Captain Marvel trailer, we finally get our first look at the iconic character. Not much was shown in terms of what she can bring to the table, though. We look at five of her amazing abilities that she’ll showcase in the forthcoming movie.

Fly Like An Eagle

Captain Marvel is able to fly around faster than the speed of sound. With her past as a pilot, it doesn’t surprise anyone that she can outfly fellow Avengers Iron Man or Falcon. Having two ways to take to the sky isn’t too shabby at all. Whether she can blast past Superman remains to be a mystery.

Eternal Cleansing

Because she’s a human-Kree hybrid, Captain Marvel is able to withstand poisons and diseases. That part, however, can be a bit complicated. After losing her powers, she started drinking heavily, which lead to her obtaining alcohol poisoning. She also gained a brain lesion, which caused memories to disappear every time she took flight.

Let The Healing Begin

Wolverine and Deadpool aren’t the only ones that can regenerate themselves. Captain Marvel can recover from devastating blows in no time. This doesn’t mean that she is immune to death, though. In the comics, she has sacrificed herself in critical moments, but was able to be revived.

Absorbing The Moment

In the comic books, Captain Marvel becomes Binary via experimentation. Under her new alias, she was able to absorb powers and manipulate energy around her. While she returned to being Captain Marvel, she’s still able to use absorption as she likes. As expected, she had a long feud with absorbing extraordinaire Rogue.

Strength Of A Woman

When it comes to strength, not many can go toe to toe with Captain Marvel. The Hulk and Thor are the only two that can come close to her power. We’re not just talking about who has the hardest punch, either. Captain Marvel can withstand huge falls and any sort of extreme temperature.

Watch the trailer and witness her awesome powers!

When Real-Life Plays A Part In TV Plotlines

Even the best laid plans can go awry, and sometimes plotlines are created entirely to accommodate an actor’s unexpected personal issue. From pregnancies to off-set injuries (and of course plenty of on-set injuries), writers are reworking scripts so that you’d never know something else was happening behind the scenes.
