Bullied Boy Gets Tons of Celeb Birthday Wishes Thanks to Special Request

On June 28, a man named Christopher (@Hopenlesmyth) tweeted a “strange request” for “anyone famous” to send a message to his bullied son Ollie, who was about to celebrate his ninth birthday.

The series of tweets Wednesday night read: “Strange request. Anyone know anyone famous/well known who could send Ollie a positive/9th birthday message. The bully keeps saying to him that everything O has, he has bigger/ better/ more often. O excited for his birthday but keeps being told it won’t be as good as his own. I would be so grateful and I appreciate it is an odd request. Just would love someone to tell him he does mean something & bullying is not.”

The dad’s request may not be strange after all since the tweet has caught the attention of celebrities and famous personalities in various fields – from actors, singers, politicians, athletes, astronauts, politicians, and many others – all of whom were delighted to comply.

Here are just a few of the famous people who sent positive vibes and birthday greetings to bullied boy Ollie via twitter: Gladiator actor Russel Crowe, Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield, Journalist Steve Fowler who even offered a selection of cool rides for Ollie, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger who wanted to meet Ollie, character designer for the Simpsons Eric Keyes who even posted a caricature of Bart Simpson greeting Ollie on his birthday and a hundred many other legendary personalities from different parts of the world.

The father certainly couldn’t believe the overwhelming response to his twitter request but amidst all the craziness, he was kind enough to remind everyone to be kind on their messages and just to stay positive as Christopher tweeted the following day:

“No names have been mentioned other than me and my children. I just want to keep it like that, some people will know the bullies and I hope they keep names out of this. I started this with no malice and certainly did not expect the reaction it has received…Please just be kind to each other #PASSONTHEPOSITIVE and please be nice.”
