A Boba Fett Solo Movie Is Finally Happening, Everyone

Published

on

With the recent release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars delivered its first, much anticipated character-centric film. When it comes to anthology films, fans have been chatting about who they want to be featured next. Luckily, they now know what’s next to come from Lucasfilm.

As You Wish

An anthology film about Boba Fett is currently in the works. James Mangold, who directed the Oscar-nominated film, Logan, has been picked to direct this film. To give this a stronger Star Wars vibe, Simon Kinberg, who co-created Star Wars Rebels, will co-write and produce the project.

Lucasfilm

In 2013, director Josh Trank was originally chosen to work on the standalone movie. He was pulled from the project following a slew of negative press towards his 2015 Fantastic Four film.

All Grown Up

Disney has yet to confirm this news, but a couple of people are trying to get involved. Daniel Logan, who portrayed a young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, is looking to get back into the role.

Lucasfilm

Following Attack of the Clones, he voiced the character in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He’s rumored to be a part of the upcoming Star Wars: Underworld TV series.

Like Father, Like Son

Another person looking to portray Fett is Temuera Morrison. He portrayed Boba’s father Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones. Over the years, he has lent his voice for both Boba and Jango in several video games, including 2017’s Star Wars Battlefront II.

Lucasfilm

If he can’t portray Boba, he’ll take the role of Captain Rex instead. “What’ll make me really happy is if I get the phone call asking me to play another character – an older Captain Rex or something,” he told the official Star Wars website.
