‘Black Mirror’ Can’t Be Tamed: Miley Cyrus Joins Popular Netflix Show

Published

Black Mirror has been one of the most mind blowing programs to ever hit Netflix. With seven Emmys to its name, it’s also one of the streaming service’s most beloved series. Although the show has had a star-studded cast in the past, one platinum selling singer is slated to shake things up.

Fade To Black

Miley Cyrus will be a part of the Black Mirror family for the fifth season. The news first came from her sister Brandi, who let it slip on her podcast Your Favorite Thing. During the episode, Brandi talked about Miley being in Cape Town, South Africa shooting some scenes.

MTV

During an episode of Howard Stern’s radio show, the host had to ask if the rumors were true. Miley wasn’t going to simply admit to it on the air. “If you guess it, then I will shake my head ‘yes,’ or ‘no,'” she told Stern. Seconds later, Stern announces that Miley confirmed her performance on the popular Netflix series. As expected, Netflix hasn’t made any announcements on this yet.

Taking It Easy

Miley’s time as an actor has dwindled down over the years. Since Hannah Montana ended in 2011, she’s been in a handful of movies. Her most recent one was in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which finds her voicing Mainframe. “I asked her if she wanted to do a little something in this movie and she was excited about it. She did a great job,” stated director James Gunn to RTÉ Entertainment.

Amazon Video

When it comes to streaming services, this isn’t her first rodeo. In 2016, she starred in the Amazon Video series Crisis in Six Scenes.

New Tunes On The Way

Miley probably won’t be taking any more acting gigs for the near future. She’s slated to release her yet to be titled new album in 2019.

The singer didn’t walk away from 2018 without giving fans some new material, though. In late November, she unveiled “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart,” which is a collaboration with producer Mark Ronson.
