Beyonce and Jay Z Pregnant with Twins!

Published

20-time grammy award winner and global music icon, Beyonce Knowles, revealed through a post on Instagram that she and hubby Jay Z were expecting. As if the announcement was not colossal enough, Beyonce further announced that she is expecting twins by posting a floral themed picture on Instagram. The news comes barely a fortnight before the 59th Annual Grammy awards in which the famed songbird and songwriter has an impressive 9 nominations.

Beyonce has over time built and established her reputation as one of the most influential modern artists, especially on social media. With a massive fan base on all her social media accounts, the news of her expectancy was received with a warm welcome by most of her fans while leaving the media curious as to why the usually private performing artist opted to make such a huge revelation.

Married to her long time boyfriend Jay Z in a high-profile private ceremony in 2008, Beyonce had her first child, Blue Carter Ivy in January 2012. The couple, through Beyonce`s 1st February Instagram post, shared their happiness and excitement at the news, highlighting the family was poised to increase by two. The A-list couple has been private about most family issues until Beyonce’s well-received album Lemonade (grammy nominated for the best visual album) which attempted to reveal some of the struggles the power couple has been through.

Beyonce`s announcement appears strategic based on the fact that she is expected to perform at the 59th Grammy awards slated for 12 February. Sources close to the singer reveal the couple opted to share the good news before the awards to minimize the attention that would otherwise lead to headlines on her baby bump. The timely revelation is likely to make headlines for quite a while including during her Grammy performance, but at least, most of the attention will be on her stage performance and her potential celebration as opposed to headlines on pregnancy that would otherwise dilute her potential wins.

Beyonce has been subject to constant pregnancy rumors since the Birth of her first born Blue Ivy; which are often triggered by her occasionally uncharacteristic absence from social media. However, the revelation of her admirable baby bump indicates that, indeed, she was waiting for the right time to reveal the good news to her fans.

About to welcome baby number two and baby number three simultaneously, the couple is yet to reveal additional details regarding the gender and expected date of birth of the twins. However, the Instagram revelation was substantial enough to leave her friends and fans over the moon about the prospect of twins. Millions of fans flocked the singer`s social media accounts to wish the couple the best in their new journey.
