Published

on

Upcoming Amazon Prime series Good Omens has added an A-list actor to their lineup. That’s right, none other than the talented Benedict Cumberbatch will be featured as the voice of the devious Satan.

Solid Resume

Cumberbatch has a wide and diverse range of acting roles under his belt. He has played the mystical Dr. Strange in several Marvel movies, including one of the same name. He also notably played the brilliant Alan Turing in 2014’s The Imitation Game, and who can forget about Sherlock. He’s no stranger to voice acting either, having recently worked as the voice of legendary Christmas villain The Grinch.

Insider

For the premiere of the upcoming Avengers: Endgame movie Cumberbatch will even be accompanying one lucky contest winner down the red carpet and into the show. That sounds like a blast!

Interesting Show

Good Omens is based off a book from 1990 by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. This version features David Tennant as a demon named Crowley and Michael Sheen as an angel by the name of Aziraphale. Good Omens finds these two beings on a quest to find a young antichrist before he destroys the world they have come to enjoy inhabiting. The show takes place in 2018.

IndieWire

While the film is live action Cumberbatch’s character will be animated, although the show’s creators are optimistic that it will be a sufficient way to portray the devil.

Something To Look Forward To

Good Omens is set to air on Amazon Prime on May 31 with all six episodes written by Neil Gaiman. After its Amazon release, the series will be shown on the BBC, whom it is being co-produced with.

Ecodelcinema

Benedict Cumberbatch certainly has a strong on-screen background and will surely bring his great talents to this interesting adaptation. It will be very interesting and exciting to see how Good Omens turns out.
