Rachel Lindsay was a simple Texan lady looking for love. In season 13 of The Bachelorette, she found the man of her dreams in Bryan Abasolo. The two lovebirds recently tied the knot, and it was a moment they’ll never forget.

Walking Down The Aisle

Their wedding ceremony took place at the Royalton Suites Cancun in Cancun, Mexico. Several fan favorites from The Bachelor, including Astrid Loch and Kristina Schulman, were there to celebrate. The ceremony had plenty of passion from both reality show contestants. “Rachel was the epitome of elegance and grace as she walked down the aisle towards Bryan. The ceremony was filled with so much joy, love, and laughter. As they exchanged their personal handwritten vows, you could feel the unbridled emotion and powerful connection between them,” wedding planner Michael Russo told People.

From One Show To Another

The road to getting there wasn’t easy. Lindsay first appeared as a contestant on season 21 of The Bachelor. On the first night, she received the first impression rose from contestant Nick Viall. Things went well as Lindsay gained two additional roses during her dates, which saved her from elimination. Unfortunately, she landed in third place but gained the role as the new Bachelorette. Vanessa Grimaldi walked away the winner that season.

Much like Lindsay, Abasolo would also gain the first impression rose on The Bachelorette. At rose ceremonies, Abasolo was always one of the first few men to grab a rose. In fact, the final three episodes of the season featured him being the first one chosen. He would win over Wisconsin’s Peter Kraus.

Lindsay was in another world when Abasolo proposed to her in the season finale. “It was like an out-of-body experience to hear the words that he was saying to me. I blanked out on what I was saying — I meant it and it was from the heart, but it was just so surreal that it was happening,” Lindsay told People back in 2017.

Keeping The Cameras Away

A handful of couples from The Bachelor & The Bachelorette received televised weddings from ABC. Unfortunately, the network chose to not give one to Lindsay and Abasolo. While it upset them at first, they’re much happier doing this in private. “As we got to know each other in the real world and things became normalized, and then I started hearing horror stories about these TV weddings, I am very thankful that we don’t have one and that we’re doing it on our own. I also think that it shows to the world or Bachelor Nation that what we have is more real. We don’t need TV. We don’t need to get paid. We’re doing this because this is what we want to do. And I think it has more meaning,” Lindsay told People.

Coming Back To The World

Following their honeymoon, it’s back to work for the couple. Lindsay hosts an ESPN radio show titled Football Frenzy, which focuses on football news. Despite her degree in sports management, Lindsay had a hard time getting ESPN to listen. “I went to ESPN three weeks after my season ended. They were like, ‘We like you, but you don’t relate to a sports audience.’…They didn’t want to look like they were just picking reality TV stars,” Lindsay told Bustle. After building her portfolio, Lindsay landed a guest-hosting gig on ESPN‘s talk show First Take. Her impressive work opened the door for her Football Frenzy job.

Alongside Travis Mills, Lindsay will co-host the upcoming MTV show Ghosted: Love Gone Missing. As a Catfish spinoff, Ghosted tracks down people who suddenly vanished from someone’s life. Lindsay will also continue co-hosting the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with fellow Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky-Manno. In between these gigs, Lindsay still works as an attorney. Abasolo will continue his work as a chiropractor.
