Ashton Kutcher And Mila Kunis Are Reportedly Not Leaving Inheritances To Their Children

Former That 70’s Show co-stars Ashton Kutcher And Mila Kunis have reportedly been in wedded bliss since 2015. With a loving relationship came two healthy children. With massive bank accounts, people assume the couple would leave everything behind for their kids. But unfortunately for the little ones, these famous parents have something else in mind.

This Isn’t For You

On Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert, Kutcher talked about how comfortably his children are living right now. “My kids are living a really privileged life, and they don’t even know it. And they’ll never know it because this is the only one that they’ll know,” Kutcher said on the podcast. At such a young age, Wyatt (age 5) and Dimitri (age 3) are busy soaking in everything around them. As they get older, however, they’ll begin to realize how much wealth their parents accumulated during their illustrious careers. Kutcher and Kunis have plans for their fortunes, though, and it doesn’t involve their two kids. “I’m not setting up a trust for them. We’ll end up giving our money away to charity and to various things,” Kutcher said on the podcast. Over the years, Kutcher has donated to various charities, including Habitat For Humanity and The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.

Not The First Ones

Kutcher and Kunis aren’t the first celebrities to keep their wealth from their children. Bill and Melinda Gates announced plans to give their three children $10 million each from their fortune. While this sounds like a lot of money, Bill Gates is worth $107.4 billion. His children will only see a tiny portion of his empire. “We want to strike a balance where they have the freedom to do anything but not a lot of money showered on them so they could go out and do nothing,” Gates said during a TED Talk.

Popular chef Gordon Ramsay won’t be leaving his fortune to his children, either. “It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them. The only thing I’ve agreed with Tana is they get a 25 percent deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat,” Ramsay told The Telegraph. Ramsey’s net worth is a large $190 million. Musician Sting isn’t planning on leaving much of his $300 million fortune behind, either. “I certainly don’t want to leave [the children] trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks. They have to work,” Sting told Daily Mail.

Hard Work Pays Off

White Kutcher closed the books on inheritance, he said he will give his kids money under one condition. “If my kids want to start a business, and they have a good business plan, I’ll invest in it. But they’re not getting trusts,” Kutcher said on Armchair Expert. “So, hopefully, they’ll be motivated to have what they had or some version of what they had.”

Kutcher knows a thing or two about investing in businesses. The actor has dropped money in numerous ventures, including Airbnb, Foursquare, and Skype. With investments, Kutcher has a strong gameplan for working with the right companies. “One of the critical tests that I try to run when I’m sitting across from a founder is, ‘Can you sell me your idea? Because if you can’t sell me, how are you going to sell your first hire, your second hire, your third hire?,” Kutcher said at TechCrunch Disrupt 2018. “How are you actually going to create the capacity for the rest of your team to sell those next hires, especially early-stage companies?”

By watching their dad in action, Wyatt and Dimitri will surely learn to set goals instead of asking for handouts. Getting their hands dirty will certainly make their parents proud.
