Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter Turns Heads At The Kentucky Derby

Published

on

Anna Nicole Smith’s illustrious career all started in Mexia, Texas, where she and her sister raised her daughter, Dannielynn. A high school drop-out, Smith worked as a cook at Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken, finally catching her big break when she debuted on the cover of Playboy in 1992. Now, her daughter Dannielynn Birkhead is continuing her public legacy by making a splash with her father at The Kentucky Derby every year since 2010.

Dannielynn’s Paternity Case

From a young age, Dannielynn was the subject of quite a bit of controversy.  Her paternity was brought into question from the day she was born until the case was settled seven months later.

Over the course of the case, five men were considered as potential fathers to Dannielynn, including her late husband J. Howard Marshall (via frozen sperm), Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt (husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor), and Alexander Denk (former bodyguard to Smith). The two main candidates, however, were Smith’s lawyer, Howard K. Stern, and photographer, Larry Birkhead. While Stern’s name appeared on the birth certificate, a paternity test revealed with 99.99% certainty that Larry Birkhead was the father.

Dannielynn And Her Father

Being a single father has been hard on Birkhead, but his bond with Dannielynn is obviously strong. Each year, they attend The Kentucky Derby and each year, Dannielynn gets cuter and cuter.

Last year, when Dannielynn was 10, her father began to take her to the annual Barnstable-Brown Party, where he met her mother in 2003.

Anna Nicole Smith’s Legacy

Dannielynn has long drawn the attention of the media due to her mother’s sudden and tragic death. At age 6, Dannielynn followed in her mother’s footsteps, modeling for Guess brand’s children’s line.

The co-founder of Guess, Paul Marciano, has noted the similarities between Dannielynn and her mother, stating that the young girl has inherited her mother’s “playful spirit.”
