Andy Cohen Confirms The Feud Between Taylor Swift And Katy Perry

Published

on

The rumor of the feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift is very true, according to Andy Cohen’s new book, Superficial: More Adventures From the Andy Cohen Diaries. The two award winning artists became very close friends in 2008 as they even mentioned each other in their tweets. However, the friendship of the Roar hit maker and the Bad blood singer became sour in 2013 when Katy Perry allegedly poached 3 of Taylor Swift’s back-up dancers amid her RED world tour. When Rolling Stone magazine asked her about these allegations, swift simply said Perry planned to sabotage the tour.

Taylor Swift’s single Bad blood, featuring rapper Kendrick Lamar is alleged to be directed towards Katy Perry. Swift has always insisted she wouldn’t say anything about their crumbled friendship, making this feud a rumor. Katy Perry had earlier in September tweeted that she would only work with Taylor Swift if she says sorry. Say sorry for what? No one really knows.

Andy Cohen, the host of Watch What Happens Live brought this feud into limelight in his book. In the book, Cohen narrates that he was waiting for a performance by Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson when he bumped into Taylor Swift at the bar at the 2016 MET gala after-party. He claimed he didn’t know what made him get involved in the feud between the talented singers. He said, “Why I felt I needed to get involved I will never know (maybe I was auditioning for her squad?).”

He vividly recounts the talk with Taylor Swift.”Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there’s a plenty of room around her,” he told her.Surprisingly, Taylor asked him, “Katy who?”

Andy Cohen said that Taylor asked him not to say anything about their discussions at the MET gala on his show. She even said that she would be watching to see if he would mention any of that in the show. Was this a threat? Would she really be watching? Cohen worried. He assured Swift that he would not say a word, but, he did mention it in his new book. When asked how this was OK with Swift, Cohen explained that she did ask him not to mention it in his show but not his book, where he confirmed the feud between the two that has lasted for a long time.

Andy Cohen admitted that his conversation with Swift might have just added fuel to the existing feud between her and Katy Perry. He added that he regrets poking his nose into the feud.

Do you think Cohen should have kept quiet about the secret feud? Share your thoughts in the comments.
