Are you a fan of the classic video game series Legend of Zelda? There is talk going on around Hollywood of a new tv series based around the famous game and the word on the boulevard is that Adi Shankar is in talks to produce it.

Big News

In a recent Instagram post Shankar stated that he is, “working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adapt one of their iconic video game series into a series.” This announcement from the Castlevania producer has fans connecting the dots with a recent report from The Wrap stating that the new series was in fact in the works and that Shankar was a potential piece of this new Zelda production.

Zelda Is Nothing New

The iconic Legend of Zelda video game has been around since 1986 when Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka first created it for gaming heavyweight Nintendo. With over a dozen sequels and multiple remastered releases, the franchise has sold a whopping total of over 92 million copies worldwide.

The Particulars are a Bit Cloudy…

It is currenly unknown whether the new series will be animated or live-action. Additionally, there has not yet been any word on what network will house this class game spin-off. In 2015 Netflix did show interest in creating a live-action version of the beloved game but nothing ever seemed to come of it and there is no current evidence to suggest that this is another look at such a posibility on their part.

Despite the lack of formal information or specific related to the series as of right now, there is no shortage of excitement to go around. So whether you’re a fan of Zelda, a fan of Shakar or both, this new show could be your next big tv binge.
