5 Actors Who Surprisingly Haven’t Won An Oscar

Published

on

The Oscars are the highest award for actors around the world. All actors aspire to earn this prestigious honor, but even some of the best don’t make it. It was a running joke that Leonardo DiCaprio would never get an Oscar, until he finally received one for his performance in The Revenant. Unlike DiCaprio, these five actors still haven’t received an Oscar despite their obvious talent.

Idris Elba

Idris Elba isn’t just one of the hottest known actors in America, he is also one of the most talented. Though he’s been nominated for several Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe awards, he has yet to receive an Academy Award or nomination. With incredible performances like Beasts of No Nation and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, it would be no surprise if Elba made another Oscar-worthy film and receive recognition very soon.

Steve Buscemi

Steve Buscemi has one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. With iconic performances like Pulp Fiction and Fargo (for which he did earn Best Picture nominations), it’s silly to think that he hasn’t received an Oscar yet. We can only hope his talent will be recognized by the academy in his next feature film, much like this next star.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt debuted in My Summer of Love, then made her way to fame in The Devil Wears Prada as a phenomenal supporting actress. Since then she has starred in several classic movies, none of which have earned her Academy praise. We aren’t sure why, but hopefully her 2018 performances in A Quiet Place or Mary Poppins Returns will finally win her the Oscar she deserves.

John Goodman

John Goodman has been on T.V. and in theatres since the late 80s. He made his debut on the television series Roseanne, and has since been in several critically acclaimed movies including Argo, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Artist, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? And, who can forget his lovable voice actor roles in The Emperor’s New Groove and Monsters, Inc? John Goodman certainly should have earned an Oscar years ago, but perhaps the Academy is waiting for his magnum opus.

Scarlett Johanssen

Scarlett Johanssen is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses of today. She is rarely seen off the red carpet, which is why so many fans are surprised she hasn’t won her Oscar yet. She was nominated twice, for Best Picture in Lost in Translation and Her, but has appeared in countless other roles that should have earned her the title of Oscar-winner by now.

Situated in the Santa Ynez Valley of Santa Monica, California, the almost 3,000 acre plot of land upon which Neverland Ranch was constructed has recently been placed back on the market. Nowadays, the one-time residence of international pop sensation Michael Jackson is going by a new name: Sycamore Valley Ranch. Much of the estate is as it was during the 15 years Jackson called it his home, except for a few glaring differences – namely, the removal of the fun-fair rides that gave the home its whimsical name Neverland Ranch. The very last vestiges of where the carousel once spun are still visible as you go through the grounds. Read on for an in-depth view of the ranch.
