’70s Trippy ‘The Banana Splits’ Are Starring In A Horror Film

Published

Some of us will remember “Th Banana Splits” for their silly, song-filled variety show back in the 70s. However, things are taking a turn for the animal band in a new movie from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Syfy. Warner Bros. is bringing back the band in a new horror film which is guaranteed to bring back memories in unexpected ways.

The Banana Splits Are Back With A Vengence

Fleegle the beagle, Bingo the gorilla, Drooper the lion and Snorky the elephant hosted The Banana Splits Adventure Hour. The show premiered in September of 1968 and was on the air for two years.

Since then they have appeared in shorts on Cartoon Network and Boomerang in 2008. The Banana Splits even got a dedication at the Myrtle Beach Hard Rock Park for a short period of time. However, this recent comeback is much more surprising.

A Poor Boy’s Birthday Party Ends In Chaos

In the upcoming movie, we will see the Banana Splits just as they were back in the day. It begins with a young boy, Harley, attending a taping of the show for his birthday. He brings his mother along and gets to enjoy the fun of the animal band for a short time.

However, things do not go right for the young child’s celebration. The show’s taping falls into disarray, and not everyone comes out of the studio alive. Will Harley and his mother escape? No one knows for sure.

Watch The Banana Splits In Action This Year

The original movie will premiere in late 2019 from Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. It will be followed by a television debut on Syfy.

Childhood fans of the show must see the new movie. No matter what happens, it is guaranteed to be thrilling, and likely very jarring for those who remember the original Banana Splits. We never expected The Banana Splits to feature blood and terror. We can’t wait to end the suspense and find out what happens to the beloved Banana Splits band.
