Happy Birthday, Biebs! Seven Things You Might Not Know About the Star

Published

on

Before the people of the United States fell in love with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, they fell in love with another Canadian named Justin. That object of our affection is pop sensation, Justin Bieber who turns 23 today. The Biebs, as he is affectionately referred to, has had an interesting life and career so far but there are things that you may not know about him.

1. Bieber started shattering records early. He had three albums hit number one before he reached the age of 18. This was a first for a solo artist. On April 10, 2010, My World 2.0 was released and immediately hit number one. On March 5, 2011, his album, Never Say Never: The Remixes dropped and it went to number one and on November 19, 2011, his Christmas themed, Under the Mistletoe, repeated those results. This all put him in the Guinness Book of World Records.

2.  Bieber also has a firm hold on the record for the most “dislikes” for a video. As of today, his video for Baby, has 7,371,337 thumbs down ratings making it the most hated video in the world.

3. When he has time to kill, Bieber enjoys watching the NBC sitcomFriends.

4. When he visited the Anne Frank museum, Bieber wrote in the guest book that he hoped the young girl, who was killed in the Holocaust, would “have been a Belieber.”

5. The singer has more Twitter followers than the population of Canada. There are about 36 million people living in Canada and the Biebs has over 92 million Twitter followers.

6.  Bieber has had at least four run ins with the law. The charges have ranged from driving under the influence to

assault and vandalism (he egged a neighbor’s home). While he had made a lot of efforts to revamp his image and lead a more law abiding lifestyle, he still cannot travel to Argentina because they still have a warrant for his arrest there.

7. Bieber is great friends with acting legend Will Smith. At one point, the Biebs was talking with the actor at least once a week. Maybe that is one reason the pop star has been able to stay out of trouble.

Ever since the Biebs was first discovered on YouTube, he has made his way into the hearts of people all over the globe. Happy birthday to the first Canadian named Justin to make it big around the world.
