Having a child is a monumental experience for both parents. While the issues of family and children can be touchy for anyone, the matter can be all the more safe-guarded in Hollywood, where the prying eyes of the press and fans are a constant. That being said, we’ll take a look at five celebrities who have tried to keep their baby daddies hidden wether for privacy or other personal reasons.

Baby Can’t Drive

Actress Minnie Driver gave birth to her son Henry back in 2008. Driver kept the father’s identity a secret in order to protect their reputation. “We weren’t together and he wasn’t directly in the business so I chose to protect him and not have a rain of publicity. I know, but it’s ridiculous. He’s not famous. There’s no big story,” she told The Guardian. It was later revealed to be writer Timothy J. Lea.

In 2011, Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell welcomed daughter Bluebell Madonna. The singer tried hiding the father’s identity from the press for over a year. In an interview with NZ Herald, Halliwell announced that writer Sacha Gervasi was the father. Prior to her pregnancy, the two dated for six weeks before calling it quits.

A Model Example

Emmy nominated actress/model January Jones gave birth to her son Xander Dane in 2011. To this day, she’s been silent about the father’s identity. Regardless, the Mad Men star enjoys raising her son as a single mother. “It’s good to have strong women around a man to teach him to respect women. He doesn’t have a male person saying “don’t cry” or “you throw like a girl”,” she told Red Magazine.
