5 Of 2018 Films You Have To Watch Right Now

While we’re a few months into 2019, we still can’t stop talking about the flicks from 2018. With so many great films released, there’s a few that may have been shoved aside. Fortunately, streaming services can easily fix that! We look at five films that you should check out now.
2.0
2.0. shows that Hollywood isn’t the only one to pull off massive action movies. Directed by S. Shankar, 2.0. became India’s most expensive movie to date. The film follows protagonist Chitti attempting to stop The Fifth Force, which uses cell phones against people. While the film earned $80 million in India, it only made under $10 million in North America.
Bodied
Produced by Eminem, Bodied takes a funny look at the world of battle rap. For a movie about such an underground phenomenon, you’d need some well-known faces. Fortunately, Bodied includes a slew of real-life rappers, including Dumbfoundead, Dizaster, Hollow da Don, and Philly Swain. The film managed to walk away with the Audience Award at the Fantastic Fest in Texas.
Destination Wedding
Destination Wedding finds Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves joining forces again for another romantic comedy. They play strangers that can’t stand each other at a mutual friend’s wedding. Over time, though, they start to enjoy being in each other’s company. The movie was directed by Victor Levin, who earned Emmy nominations for Mad Men and Mad About You.
Lizzie
The violent story of Lizzie Borden gets a theatrical adaptation with Lizzie. Chloë Sevigny delivers a grand performance as the title character. Aside from acting, Sevigny co-produced the film with Naomi Despres and Elizabeth Destro. Her hardest task was trying to get Kristen Stewart to portray housekeeper Bridget. “I had to be the one to ask Kristen [to be in the movie], and I had to pursue her. That’s what’s difficult about producing—having to be pushy is hard for me,” she told Town and Country Magazine.
What They Had
Director Elizabeth Chomko managed to bring her screenplay to life with What They Had. The movies deals with a daughter’s tough choice to place her mother in a nursing home. The film stars Hilary Swank, Blythe Danner, and Michael Shannon. It currently holds an 88% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes.
