Wolverine Will Control The Infinity Gauntlet In ‘Wolverine: Infinity Watch’

Published

The Infinity Gauntlet is one of the most powerful things to exist in the Marvel universe. With the recent hype surrounding Avengers: Infinity War, the gauntlet will come back to the comic books. This time, a different character will have control of this destructive item.

On The Watch

It was revealed that Wolverine will have the Gauntlet in their possession. Marvel made the announcement by revealing the new miniseries Wolverine: Infinity Watch. The cover art for the first issue was done by Giuseppe Camuncoli, who is best known for his work in the ongoing Darth Vader series.

The story will be written by Gerry Duggan, who is known for his work on Deadpool and All-New Guardians of the Galaxy. Andy MacDonald, who worked on Punisher War Journal, will do artwork for the entire run.

Let’s Go, Bub

The seeds were planted when Logan made a surprise return with an Infinity Stone in Marvel Legacy. Logan was killed off in 2014 at the conclusion of the Death of Wolverine miniseries. This became a major inspiration for the 2017 film Logan.

Marvel

Wolverine: Infinity Watch will answer several questions about his resurrection and lust for Infinity Stones. He won’t be alone in this journey, though. Loki will tag along for the ride. Many Marvel fans will notice that Infinity Watch is a very familiar name. This was the name of two separate teams led by Adam Warlock and Doctor Strange. Each team included six guardians for the Infinity Gems.

Get In Line

Wolverine won’t be the only person beside Thanos to wear the Infinity Gauntlet. Reed Richards once held the gauntlet during 2007’s New Avengers: Illuminati Vol. 2. Iron Man became the first human to take full possession of the gauntlet in 2011’s Avengers Vol 4.

Marvel

Wolverine: Infinity Watch will arrive at comic stores in February 2019.
