Where Exactly Has Robin Thicke Been Hiding?

Published

on

While Robin Thicke accumulated hits since 2003, he became a worldwide star with 2013’s “Blurred Lines.” You simply couldn’t escape his voice for months. Much like any other celebrity, Thicke somehow vanished from the mainstream. So, what has happened to the superstar since his banner year, and where did he disappear to?

Learning From Loss

In 2016, Robin lost his father Alan from an aortic dissection. “He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had. Let’s all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in,” he posted on Instagram. His father’s death has helped him grow. “My father passed a couple years ago and I’ve finally realized how much I am comfortable in my own skin, just being myself,” he said at a 2018 Television Critics Association panel.

Stepping From The Spotlight

Thicke shied away from the public to spend some quality time with his family. One thing he managed to do was take his mother on vacation. “I hadn’t gotten to take my mom on vacation for a long time, so it was really a magical trip for us,” he told Good Morning America.

In The Studio

Thicke has been working on some new material here and there. Following his not so well received album Paula, he worked on songs with Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, and Juicy J. An actual follow up to Paula is currently in the works. For now, Thicke is enjoying releasing singles on a sporadic basis.

Welcoming New Life

Since dating April Love Geary, Thicke’s world has changed for the best. On February 22, 2018, they introduced their first child Mia Love. Fortunately, Mia Love won’t be alone for much longer. The couple are expecting their second daughter, who is slated to be born on Robin’s birthday.

Patching Things Up

Everyone knows about Thicke’s long marriage to Paula Patton. While the two officially ended things in 2016, they still remain good friends. “Today is today, and yesterday is yesterday. We get along so well,” Patton told Larry King. The two will often spend time with their only son Julian.
